W O W, Fred, I do not know how I missed this thread from 2014. Never knew you went thru this, quite an ordeal. I am impressed with your strong desire to overcome injuries and regain a normal life. Also, giving Renie a little relief from worrying and fretting, from all she went thru too. Glad you are healed and still livin life to the fullest. Right-on!

Phred.......... you were lucky brother. You could be the most careful rider in the wake of your accident.. but you can't control the stupid distracted drivers that are on the roadways today dude. My eyesight is diminishing... and I'm more careful than I've ever been behind the wheel. I see traffic atrocities almost daily.. that make my skin itch...
Many of my friends are bikers.. and many of them have been hurt.. and really lucky that they weren't crippled as a result of some stupid driver who simply wasn't paying attention. They're building safety-systems into cars today for these people.. for Christ's sake.
Follow your wife's cue........ Buy or better-yet build a T-bucket or "Rat-Rod". Four wheels can be just as much fun as two....maybe even more!

Each day in the United States, over 8 people are killed and 1,161 injured in crashes that are reported to involve a distracted driver.

Took a bit to find this thread...CEF is expanding every day
Just got back from a fun morning of flying....only 2 flights with my beater Rugged Stunt Trainer (RST) and I am not a wreck.
Not worn out fatigued and pain ....do not NEED a Motrin
As I sat here catching up on CEF and other forums it occurred to me, I might have finally healed enough to be back to pre MC accident form.
Contrasted by my sadness the brother Rusty had to NOT fly Huntsville due to pain and problems
I mention this because Rusty is one of my life heroes...never having met the man....
And in my life, are many fellow soldiers that got compleatly blown up and fought their way back
Not sure if I ever mentioned the Helicopter crash I survived in Desert Storm 1991 but my personal recovery was fast (much younger)
Back to the inspiration of our brother Rusty... he is pretty open about the challenges life threw at him... Every now and then he has some depressed posts butusually (always) Rusty finds a way to get back positive and formulated a get well plan
These last 3 years of recovery, whenever I got depressed, and thought I was permanently FUBAR ----Rusty would post up his personal trials or his good advice to Tim on Stunt hanger.... Always made me dig out the list of stretches, PT exercises, diet recommendations, and get my ass back on track
Thanks Rusty...

I feel you Fred , glad to hear ya got some good fly time in and was not aggravated with the ongoing pain issues , Rusty Is one heck of a guy and just keeps on going and dont give in to everyday issues he has. I was wondering if he was able to get to the fly in or not , Thanks for clearing me on that . Have not heard though what is up with the Hip ? I have a bad rt side hip degeneration and can be a bear getting around , i hope his has not gone out on him!
