Funny in a sad way which isn't at all uncharacteristic of the current administration.
Remember BO will remain office until January of '17.

Military Spending
Think about this:
In 2012 the USA spent 682 Billion on the military , The top 10 other country's spent 652 Billion. This was posted today by NBC NEWS, Mark Koba
I cant help but think that if we spent 1/2 of this amount ( Still more than China) for the military and the other 341 Billion here in the USA that we would all be much better off. The question that I have is why we arent doing more here for the American people who are the ones paying the bill.

Re: Obamacare Hotline
Our national debt is 17 thousand billions, its all funny money now. They just raised the debt ceiling so we can " pay our bills", I could do that for a while (borrow to pay my bills) but sooner or later it will collapse.

RK:
Because the US Congress has become addicted to spending money they don't have.
It gets members of Congress re-elected. Congress currently has something like an eight-percent approval rating yet 90 % percent of members get retain their seats come election time.
So, in the words of Pogo: "We have met the enemy and they are us.

Re: Obamacare Hotline
Super Dave.... truly amazing is it not?
I have taken a "NO INCUMBENTS EVER!" position to my voting habits... but sadly I am only ONE vote
While I fully agree that there are ways we could do with a LOT less spending... I suggest that the lions share come from entitlements and NOT the Military men and women...That said, as a third generation career soldier I may be a bit biased
There is no excuse, ever, for sending our military into a hostile area with inferior training or equipment
Time and time again it is done....each period of (peace?) low threat has many tax payers telling their representatives these sort of thoughts: (Quote RK Flyer) "I cant help but think that if we spent 1/2 of this amount ( Still more than China) for the military and the other 341 Billion here in the USA that we would all be much better off. And to be fair this is a logical question that should be asked EVERY DAY ABOUT EVERY expenditure
I am old enough to tell you that maintaining a well equipped and trained military does have tangible results to OUR American freedom and standard of living.... but if I have to explain this truth you have not been properly educated
I can make substantial arguments for our involvement in Iraq relating to much more than OIL...
I believe that Any activity in Afghanistan(other than killing Taliban Terrorist trainers) is folly, cost too many lives and billions of $$. AND, to do so with no National Strategy or tangible strategic plan was total incompetence by the current administration....
