Re: 2 guys flying the pattern.. together
Dan Banjock is a Philly flier and a friend of Ken Cook. Do a search on youtube of his name as he does some interesting things.

Cool? That doesn't even start to explain that!

That flight in particular was unrehearsed. Mike is an amazing flyer as well as Dan. This started out using swap meet Ringmaster's only to quickly discover the very shortcomings of the model. Mike suggested the PT-19 due to it being a ARF. The model however will be quickly diminished back into balsa form though if many precautions aren't taken. While the plane was designed for a EVO.36 which is rather heavy for control line use, the FP.40 isn't far behind in weight. They both chose to use the FP.40 due to our club using many of them. Horizon has way too small of a control horn which makes the plane overly sensitive and it's pretty tail heavy making it a bad choice for returnees to control line or beginners. My son and I have tried to do this and while he can, I certainly struggle. I guess it's like teaching a old dog new tricks. Your timing is so critical that I either am too close or I altogether miss it. The last time we tried I flew right through my son's plane. I would like to work on this a bit more as I have some warbirds that would really look cool flying in formation. Ken

There's a video on my Tube channel that I shot in H'ville of Dan Banjock and Shawn Cook flying twin engine warbirds together. That was a treat to close out a fun weekend.

Re: 2 guys flying the pattern.. together
Here's my son and Dan flying together. This was the first time they did this due to Dan's Bearcat just getting into the air. Dan joined 2 Fox .35's together making his own crank and jointer. We just weren't quite sure what to expect so they were just feeling them out. My F-82 is quite large at 65" wingspan with 2 Fox .35's. I like the way the Fox's sound in tandem. Dan's twin has a totally different exhaust note and one you wouldn't expect from the Fox. He's swinging a 13" prop. Fuel economy is almost identical. I use 8 oz's a flight and so does his inline. They simultaneously shut off at the same time. After a few warm up flights they start getting out of control. I don't care to repair things anymore so I get a little heated when things go in that direction. They made it to the overheads though and I feel this season they will both get the entire pattern in. What happens is my twin is running on standard vent so the speeds get so fast by that time in the flight they're mismatched. https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?v=1389556984602678&set=vb.513140418756097&type=3&theater
In Huntersville, Dan was flying a P-38 which is a real beast. That plane has a wingspan of 72" https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=540879139315558&set=a.515143271889145.1073741831.513140418756097&type=1&theater and weighs in at 96 oz's using 2 Enya .35's. I wish they could've flown a couple more times but this was the end of the day and I know I was feeling a bit bushed. Shawn dropped down in front of Dan with literally a 1" to spare. Quite impressive and I wish I had the kind of reflexes and ability to do that. Ken
