AMARKAT!!!

AMARKAT!!!
not a model... but a "cat-tree"!!! Our 2nd from "Amarkat"... in 18 months... Our 3 young cats LOVED the 1st one! (they started to freak when I disassembled the 1st one today... but it was tattered, and the new one had arrived UPS in less than a week) $109 direct from Amarkat... and free shipping! This new one has bare-wood platforms; where the previous ones were covered in a "fleece" type padding that got dirty and couldn't be washed. The new one features boxed platforms for a fleece "pillow-insert" with hook and loop fasteners for easy removal and cleaning... and hanging toys for the kitties to play with.
The construction is quality throughout... using 3/8"-16 studs/inserts/hex-head screws... a supplied "hex wrench" is all that's needed to assemble it... (which is what my wife is doing, as I write this... )
count the curious kitties in the pics...

Re: AMARKAT!!!
GOT to love the cats!
I may have to do a slight hijack later, with photo's of Susie's cats, Olive and Roadkill, as they assist her in putting out Holiday Decorations.
There will probably NOT be video as I'd have to mute the audio in order to keep it Family-Friendly !!!

Bring it on Kim! Kitties just LOVE Holiday decorations... Round ornaments are really just balls... breakable glass balls... "Tinsel and garland"?... it's all just string... New toys!!! Give a cat a pipe-cleaner; and it's happy for hours!
Re: AMARKAT!!!
I used to have a black cat just like that! Her name Shadow. She was a great cat.

Re: AMARKAT!!!
Years ago, I adopted a barn kitten, and named him "Piet the Cat". His name came from the Pietenpol I own, and his "Title" was an adaptation of "Bill the Cat" from the comic strip "Bloom County".
When we set about re-plumbing all the fixtures in our bathroom, Piet the Cat made himself home in every possible way...non to the surprise of any "Cat Person"...and one of his favorites was the bucket we used to catch the trap water.
Besides being treated to "Cat-In-A-Bucket" as I tried get ready for work, I was also witness to the "Towel Cat" maneuver, which involved Piet draping himself across the step of a work ladder (no photo...sorry), much like a bath or shop towel hung out to dry. It looked REALLY uncomfortable, but he often preferred it to curling up in his store-bought "Cat Bed" .
Had this personable fleabag for 16 great years before a bronchial tumor caused his passing.

Re: AMARKAT!!!
Sad news Guys, my office assistant went to paradise the day before yesterday. She died in her sleep on a chair next to me while I was boxing together some damage reports. I noticed it only a few hours later.

Re: AMARKAT!!!
Sorry to hear. She apparently went the best way possible though, peacefully at home. They really DO become part of the family.

Aw, sorry about your kitty. I have a 16 yo barn cat named Tribble. She's getting a little nutty in her old age but still hanging in there. I'm braced for the day she doesn't wake up though.

Re: AMARKAT!!!
Just one cat here. Black with dark charcoal stripes named Jazzpurr (formerly Jasmine, the receptionist at the vet had fun with spelling upon the determination he was not a she)
Almost 14, indoor only, currently half hairless and needs a shot from the vet. (I think he got a flea a couple months ago, and hasn't recovered even with flea treatment.) Poor guy has been on prescription diets and different litters to try to control this since he was a kitten.
Some cats are smart, and some cats are smarter, and some cats are quite dumb. This cat is a mix of these, he can turn on the faucet in one bathroom sink for a drink...but he still manages to get stepped on almost daily...
Sorry to hear about the loss of your cat. While I am not really a "cat" person (that's my wife) I will miss this guy when the time comes. Pets really do become part of the family.
Phil

The best thing to do is get another, I've had to bury many critters. This is my latest.

Thanks guys. For a few years, I know I've been allergic to cats since I was a boy. I'm gonna take a break with cats. It saves me some hankies. But I'm sure, when the next cat will show up at the window pane, she will stay.
