Re: who has the biggest collection of cox engines and plastic factory cars and planes
The truth be known this is not my collection. It belongs to a friend of mine in Texas who is a rarely heard from CEF member.
I use the pictures for shock value when anyone mentions collection size. He is currently selling off a lot of his Cox items including spare plastic and other parts for anything Cox. Hit me up if you're looking for something and I will ask him.

Re: who has the biggest collection of cox engines and plastic factory cars and planes
hers a pic of the blue plane in question from the photo above, It a Cox p-39 from the eighties:
Here's what's left of my plastic collection, there probably 12-15 more packed away.
The top row are Comet planes, the rarest is the far right, its called a Snark.
Middle row: The all camo p-40 is pretty rare, the Helldiver I've has since 6th grade, the corsair is NIB, but of course I sold box!
Bottom row: Spit and Stuka are restored basket cases as was the TD-1, the yellow TD-3 only needed a scrub! not Shown, Aurora Bonzo, Aurora D-7 (basket), several Testors and Cox that don't fit or make the grade.

Re: who has the biggest collection of cox engines and plastic factory cars and planes
Top row: Early Aeromite with Atwood Wasp, Wen-Mac's from mid fifties, not real valuable, but I like 'em.
Middle row: Rare blue Wen-Mac Cutlass (lol, not Olds) P-38 ('61-'62, you can date Wen-Macs from engine series) Wen-Mac 'Wings' Trainer and 'rare' but not real popular the Testors Skyraider, not to be confused with the Cox version.
Bottom Row: Theses are the planes that I had as a kid and started my 049 engine/RTF hobby, Testors SNJ, Mini Stunt, Rivets, Pennzoil Pitts, Miss America, Early 70's PT-19.

Mark very nice !! indeed the only thing I see I HAD is the pt19 that thing was really something with all the rubber bands I hate now that it became trash , but I did learn to keep one in the air [most the time]Mark Boesen wrote:

no, i'll probably sell it off or down to one case when I get time, keeping the ones like I had as a kid and maybe the Comets.
That the problem with collecting, when do you stop and what do you do when you're done?
here's some more pics of stuff I had/sold:

most of those in photos have been sold off. the 1911 curtis pusher would shatter in a hundred pieces. our buddy kim does fly plastic, i think theres some videos on youtube.
Re: who has the biggest collection of cox engines and plastic factory cars and planes
OK...I apologize IN ADVANCE for the Rivets Video !!! I know that it is an atrocity to all those who love RTF's...both the Flying Types AND the Hangar Queens...that it should pay because hooking up a set of flying lines was apparently beyond my technical abilities on that particular day...

According to Cribb's Law an engine lasts 3 years so I have 900 years worth of engines.

300 engines is a nice start, but if you use three each year, then you only have 300 years worth of engines. Doesn't that make you want to go out and buy some more?

Nice collections Jason and Mark, my eyes hurt trying to pick out individuals.
Mark, if you ever decide to sell (rid yourself ) of that Skyraider, keep me in mind. My old Navy Squadron flew them.

I'd surf ebay, the Cox version is nicer and probably cheaper, they were made in Navy blue and gray and reintroduced in the 80's.

Re: who has the biggest collection of cox engines and plastic factory cars and planes
Cribbs law, now that's funny.
Actually they last longer than 3 yrs. depending on how you fly and what fuel you use.
Cribbs law states:
One engine for use now, one engine if it breaks, one engine for the future.
It's the law of threes... Now that being said Jason can easily hit the 1000 yr mark!
I still only have 2 TD .020's and it's irritating me.

Well, it's not the same as an actual pre-owned Mark Boesen, but it will have to do. How did you ever find a P-47 labeled Skyraider........ I look for them under gas skyraiders to avoid the hundreds of kits out there.
I will join in the bidding probably to be disappointed once again.......
Hey, I just won one.....There has to be at least twenty bucks worth of glow heads there..... I was the only bidder. Just Babe Bees, but nice ones.
