Mark:

If your reference is to the Kenedy assasination, teaching history in a junior high school portable classroom.

I read my students Carl Sandberg's "Oh my Captain, my Captain! written after the Licolon assination.

No school wasn't dismissed and there were no days off to grieve.

Couldn't say. My memory isn't that great. I was only 7 months old....

Funny how you can remember where you were and what you were doing when the news hit.
I was in a portable classroom like Dave only as a student, they made the announcement over the PA and my teacher started crying.
I was still to young to fully understand what happened. Most of my peers were more worried about the Beetles, who had just hit the USA.

Crank: My long-term memory far greater than my short-term which isn't unusual for a seventy-six year old. I glory in the past and find the present threatening if not down-right scary.
