The weekend of contest flying!!!!!!!!!!!!
Well I didn't compete, but I did talk to a lot of people. I flew one flight with my new Holeshot, it still needs work or maybe its me.
Now to the big news. My boys competed in Navy Carrier and the oldest (Daniel) took 3rd and the youngest (Nathan) took 4th. Daniel enter beginner stunt again and took his second 1st place victory. He's happiest about the perfect landing score from one of the judges.
I scored another Flying Clown kit for $20, score! Over all a great weekend.

That's great, Duke. I sure wish I had learned to do more than climbs and dives when I was a kid. It's nice to know y'all are having good healthy educational family fun.

Re: The weekend of contest flying!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks Rusty. What's better than spending the weekend flying, talking flying, helping others fly, ect., ect, with your boys. It was a great weekend. The only regret is not making it to the Bladder Grabber to see old friends and to meet Fred(fredvon4). Sorry Fred I really wanted to meet up with you, but the stunt guys were really working with my oldest son, trimming his plane and advice. We have some great pilots, like the new NATS champ Paul Walker (who won his class yesterday, no big surprise there). Speaking of Fred, where's your post, pictures and so on. I know you are must be on the way back to Texas. Hope you had a great time with all the guys, sure you did.
I hope to get some practice in before next months contest and enter myself. Next weekend will be spend fishing with any luck at all. SALMON are here!!!!!!!!

Hey! Congrats to the sons. Your boy impressed me the day I saw him fly, so it's no wonder he's coming along. Glad to see a couple of younger pilots advancing.

Sorry to have missed meeting you Duke
Congrats to your boys! Too bad both events conflicted you all would have enjoyed serious fast combat both 1/2a and the big boy Nelson powered planes
I am still recovering from three days of return trip including a lot of bad weather driving
I will post up something soon...for now Flying Lines has a great write up

Glad you get to enjoy this hobby with your sons

Well, you are hooked now. You'll be up next year for sure. And maybe we can book two weekends for the contests instead on one. It was more than just me wanting to be at both contests.fredvon4 wrote:Sorry to have missed meeting you Duke
