Re: control line 1/2 a question
That is a monofilament product, you want a braid product.
I recommend Power Pro in Hi-Vis Yellow. This is a round braid product with nice handling characteristics. I got mine off ebay. Since you are in a seacoast state you might have better luck with yellow. I have also used the green that is available in all the freshwater states...it vanishes in grass.
Open the booklet and find the Uni-Knot. Fold about 12 inches of the end over and tie a 5-turn uni-knot around an eyelet or thimble.
I ordered my thimbles from Brodak. Using 1/8 or 3/16 inch clothing eyelets that are crimped is very much the same thing, but they need a crimp tool that rolls the edge instead of splitting the edge. Crimping over paper or cardboard may be necessary to make a nice opening for the line to lay in.

Re: control line 1/2 a question
I know I'm in the minority with this opinion, but I prefer 30# test. I think it lasts longer and is less prone to tangling... and strong enough for repeated yanks recovering from slack line situations, and still light and low drag.
Dyneema is the name of the polymer filament that many products are made from, including fishing line. It has many industrial uses. For fishing line, the brands I've seen made with braided Dyneema are Spectra, Suffix and Spiderwire.
