Kim,
Just last night I figured out who was eating my chicken feed. For the last 3 days I noticed the Feed bucket was tipped over in the AM.
I solved the problem except I can't post the picture.
Chickens and Coons do not play well together. So it was either him or my chickens and I like eggs so..........
In your case a live trap may solve the problem. Skunks in the skunk works! What's this world coming too.
Ron

We have a possum that regularly visits at night and eats our cat's food in the carport. The worst part is he pollutes the water bowl every freakin night. I'm not sure how, I guess he drinks with his mouth full. I figured it was a raccoon until I saw the possum last week.

I don't know if I would put out a live trap for black and white kitties. Nothing like getting close to one that's mad and trapped.

Well, I thought about that too. My other suggestion would not have been so nice though.
Kim seems to like them.

Yeah...guess I'm mellowing in my old age. Critters have to cross me pretty bad for me to go Rambo on them. Used to make long road trips to Kansas and Oklahoma just blow Prairie Dogs into lasagna. Now, just snipe starlings to keep them out of my Martin and Blue Bird houses.
I may try to relocate these guys if they'll cooperate.

Prairie dog Lasagna.......I'll pass
Just in case anyone thinks I am a monster for snuffing the coon, I am also the same guy who brakes for squirrels and stops to move turtles and snakes off of the road. Here in OK that is a daily thing.
I believe we need to be good stewards and make good judgements when it comes to animals.
Kim, if those skunks are giving you no issues then whatever. Of course I would be careful of late night jaunts to the Skunk Works.

Re: Dicey Times at the Ole Skunk Works !!!!
I am not so politically correct...here in Central Texas almost 100% of the Coon, Skunk, and Possum population is Rabid... I love my chickens and smallish Boston Terriers as well as all my Grand Babies so a few times every year the .22 Magnum dispatches the a fore mentioned critters to be buzzard feed
All humming birds, Road Runners, Barn Swallows, Bats, Blue Jays, Cardinals, and others are safe on my property as are the Deer, Armadillos, Squirrel, and occasional Goat
Army Retired so this is first country living and now here about twenty years... I am serious, every coon, or skunk I shot was sent to local Vet and 100% were RABID..most of the Possums were not infected but still a bad nuisance animal I have no regrets dispatching
BTW my Texas Tree Lizard and Bullfrog population is just now exploding...driving my micro dogs nutz!!
Sure wish the fire ants had not decimated the FireFly population
