Re: sig handle
Don't know if this will help much, but this is how I use one of the Sig Handles.
I modified it's center into a post for trimming, and threaded 90 feet (in this case) of yellow Spiderwire through it. I used the middle holes as they are the best all-around for my flying, and also cut a notch inside for my arthritic middle finger knuckle.

I have a great setup for the Sig handle. Gotta go, but will post a pic and description later today.

Just saw Kim's post. made my adjuster in the center and hung a line on it during an 8. Moved it to the side and never had a problem. Wait for my follow up and pick whichever method you like best. I had no use for that little ring thingy.

Re: sig handle
This is how it normally works. Flat side of the washer pinches the line when you tighten the screw

Re: sig handle
Cribbs' is better than mine. As usual I over complicated it.
Here's mine next to the parts I used to make the adjuster thimble that has a few inches of line wrapped around it:
That's tennis racket tape wrapped around it. With Sig fuel my hands get too slippery.

Re: sig handle
Good luck Bullit, we'll be awaiting your flight report.
May the winds be calm and your lines tight.

Re: sig handle
Tighten the screw just enough to secure the line, but not so much that you need a screwdriver to adjust the line. This way with a gently but forceful pull you can adjust the line, although typical adjustment is only about 1/4 inch for me.

Re: sig handle
I get nervous before every excursion. It doesn't go away until I pick up the handle the first time. I always wonder if the other guys get nervous before an outing too. I was nervous before I flew today.bullit132 wrote:geeze im all nervouse now!!!

Re: sig handle
Right, and make sure the smooth side of the washer is pinching the line. Some washers have a sharp ridge on the edge of one side. With my thimble method you can just add or remove a wrap from around the post to adjust the length.pkrankow wrote:Tighten the screw just enough to secure the line, but not so much that you need a screwdriver to adjust the line.
