Plane for Cox Collection
Hello. I now have two running .020 peewees and one that is awaiting an overhaul kit. I have Littlest stick, but it is a bit too fast for me. I would prefer something slow. I also have a .049 Diesel Bomber that needs a plane, same for golden bee with throttle ring, and lastly a .051 TeeDee. I personally prefer vintage, slow styled planes when it comes to this size. Something with a parasol maybe.

Re: Plane for Cox Collection
Well I know exactly what you need it's called the Tom Boy by vic sneed it is perfect for the diesel bomber.
Originally designed for free flight with a mills 0.75cc it would go great with a diesel .049 and a larger maybe 7-8" prop.
They are very easy to convert to rc and fly very stable and rather slow. I have seen many conversions to rc an they were all successful this is a wonderful plane and designed by one of the most prolific model plane designer ever.
Trust me try one you won't be disappointed.
If I remember rightly Warren has one.

Go to wallyworld and buy a jumbo FF foamy glider. Don't last too long, but lots of fun - great for combat.
Re: Plane for Cox Collection
Ive seen those only 4.99 in my LHS I was thinking of putting a brushless motor on it and making it a pylon racer.microflitedude wrote:Go to wallyworld and buy a jumbo FF foamy glider. Don't last too long, but lots of fun - great for combat.
byt seriously the tom boy is your best bet.
Re: Plane for Cox Collection
O.k. That nocks out a plane for the diesel bomber. My dad decided that if I don't build the Tommyboy he will. Is there anything that will fly with the diesel that is more nostalgic looking. Parasol would be nice. Also planes for all of the other motors. All vintage please.

Re: Plane for Cox Collection
Ok then this parasol wod do well with any .049 and would be easily converted to rc (it's FF)http://www.outerzone.co.uk/plan_details.asp?ID=892
Re: Plane for Cox Collection
And for the tee dee .051 I recommend a lazy bee by Clancy aviation they are just so lazy
Re: Plane for Cox Collection
I do believe that I have the plans for that as I considered building it for my OS Max 15 FP.

Re: Plane for Cox Collection
How about this for a pee wee .020 although may you should make it stronger and put the prop on backwards.

Re: Plane for Cox Collection
Maybe but of you can wait I will be designing a Pietnpol for .010 power and while I am doing it maybe I could scale one up to .020 for you.
Re: Plane for Cox Collection
That would be nice. And I just found out that the style of plane I am seeking is a pylon. I don't know how to tell if they will fly with a cox though. I am also willing to build a control line now too.

A pylon racer?
Re: Plane for Cox Collection
It doesn't say racer. Just pylon. Here is a page with a bunch. Now just to pick one.

Okay then because pylon racers are anything but slow.
Why bot design your own or adapt a current design.
I do that a lot and it's a great way of gettIng an original and unique well flying model but I think you should build a tomboy.
Re: Plane for Cox Collection
Oh I am definitely going to build a tomboy. But I have several motors and I really want a pylon.

Good also maybe you could
Put a pee wee on a Tom thumb but with the prop on backwards. The Tom thumb is a 1/2 scale tomboy.
You can get the plans from outerzone they are 2" too big bit that's fine for a .020
Re: Plane for Cox Collection
Now that is a small plane.
