It's a 18" "Miss Thriftway" three-point hydroplane kit that I built many many years ago. Using a #11 Exacto blade it's going to make nice patterns for a re-make of a kit long out of production.

I salvaged all the hardware and will power it with the same Baby Bee .049 as before. Always thought this would be a nice project and now available time allows me to do it.

It'll be kind of a nostalgia thing for me to run this boat again using a fixed rudder to kept it going in a circle. It's too small for RC.

Duke:

As soon as I make the patterns on card stock I'll make a set for you too.

I know I built the kit with Ambroid but time and castor made it yield to cutting very well.

Remember this is NOT a airboat but 1/16 scale three-point hydroplane using an inboard engine and is too small for RC.

Bah, nothing is too small for RC. One can make planes under 10g with off the shelf parts. 18 inches is LOTS of space!

Pictures? Sure soon as I have something to show.

A 18" three-point inboard hydroplane is decked over mostly and doesn't have the cargo area to hold two mini-servos, control cables,receiver and the battery pack PLUS the engine, drive shaft and engine fuel tank.

My Dumas "Lil Swamp Buggy barely holds all that stuff now. It's hugely more spacious than a the three-point hydroplane that I'm going to be building.

I hear boats are sometimes more difficult than planes to trim for proper running.

I'll be running this one free and in CCW circles to take advantage of engine torque and useing a rudder set in the same direction as well.

Remember I have experience running this set up some years back when I ran it in 25 yard radius circles.
