Need servo help with GTP Nissan
I have been looking around for a nice 2.4ghz radio system for my GTP Nissan.
One problem I have is that all the servo's I have now are too big. I don't know if the GTP uses 'mini' servos or 'micro' servos. The micro style seem to be the right size kinda, but are almost too small. I also notice that the position of the screw holes in the car mounts are for a servo with 4 screw mounts. Yet, all modern micro servo's seem to have only 2 screw mounts.
The screwhole center to center spacing for the servo's is 38mm or 1.5inch.
Can anybody with more radio expertise than me recommend some servo's that I can buy that will fit?
I think this one might work for the throttle:
http://www.savoxusa.com/Savox_SH1350_Mini_Digital_Servo_p/savsh1350.htm
No, its 42.5mm hole to hole spacing.
Futaba makes BLS651 for 1/12 cars, and its also using 42.5mm hole spacing, so its too big too.
38mm is too small for a mini-servo, and too big for a micro.
Will I have to use 20+ year old cox/sanwa servo's to make this car work?
*edited a few times to fix silly errors.. its late and I'm tired.

Re: Need servo help with GTP Nissan
I don't see hole spacing listed out on anybody's site. They list the lower case and upper case dimensions, usually as a unit.
edit: Ok, I see it both ways on different sites.
This looks like a maybe, the lower case is 35mm long, the upper 48mm long, 4 screw.

There are a couple hundred servos to look at...

Re: Need servo help with GTP Nissan
Looked at that one you linked. Its too big.
The case width, or the "B" dimension on that servo, can't be more than 31mm. Hole spacing on the screws is 38mm, and height or "F" dimension can't be more than 20mm.
I spent half last night looking at servo's from different sites, going to take a break, its giving me a headache.

Re: Need servo help with GTP Nissan
This one might work, the dimensions are nearly correct.

Re: Need servo help with GTP Nissan
I think I found one that's a proper fit!
http://www.hitecrcd.com/products/servos/digital/digital-micro-mini/hs-5245mg.html
1.53inch hole centers, other dimensions look good.

if you haven't found a suitable radio yet, HK has a 2.4GHz transmitter and receiver, no servos for $15.99 + shipping. link here

edited 4-5-2013 3:57p.m. PST P.S. be sure you use a high-torque servo for the steering servo. the throttle servo is not as important.
