Looking to get one in good condition.
I can trade for a hex drive plate.

If you have a drill and a nut/bolt And sandpaper you can make one of those out of a hex drive plate. It will be lighter too. Just a thought

These must aluminum then.
Yeah they are aluminum, start out with some big stuff like 80 grit and work your way up to finer stuff. Basically you just want to remove the flats. I use a dremel to cut off the flats and then use sandpaper to save time.
You could use just sandpaper, but it will be rough going at first until you round off the flats.
Here is one I did for my mouse entry. Not the best photo, but you get the idea. I am not a fan of hex plates or hex spring starters so grinding one down makes me smile

Send me the hex drive plate and I can turn it down on my lathe to make it into a KB style drive plate. This is what Matt and Bernie do anyway.

We used to turn down the aluminum and brass ones. Now it is just the brass ones. The aluminum ones are manufactured now.
