Re: Needed fuel tank for Sky copter
Is your tank missing, or is the tank leaking? I've had the plastic nipple break off of the tank on my old relic. Recently, about 2 months now, I took mine out after almost 30 years. I found that my tank had suffered age and needed to be repaired. All plastic cleaned up with alcohol and a bit of scuffing and a new piece of aluminum tubing installed due to the plastic nipple breaking off and JB weld. The tank worked terrifically. Even though the fuel tank is small, I suggest that you let the engine run statically until the tank is 2/3 empty and then launch until you know for certain how high this thing goes. I just can't believe how high it does go on such a small amount of fuel. Ken

Re: Needed fuel tank for Sky copter
Thank you for the ideas. My tank is broken from hanging in my folks garage. Rest of the copter is in great shape though. It was my christmas present around 1974 my father took me to the local K-mart parking lot to fly it. He go the copter started on that old cold morning, let loose and the copter made a bee line towards the only busy road around. He took off running after the thing and it comes down only feet from the road. At that point he was pretty [bleep] so into the car the copter went. Only to hang in the garage the reat of its life. Now we both have classic mustangs, and are constantly working together on them. One day about a month ago he shows up at my house with the old copter and I think it's time for its second flight. The old tank is broken. So I hooked up a bigger tank from the local hobby store. Just to see if it would run. After a little tinkering. It's ran like a champ. So I'm keeping a eye on eBay. For either a parts copter or someone who might have some new old stock.
