Cox car engine
I can't figure out the model cars these engines came in, they have #7 cyl. with two bypass ports non SPI.
The crank and case are standard Cox airplane with brass drive plate. Anyone have a model with one of these engines?

I may be wrong, but I don't think it's a car engine as all the COX car engines I've seen or owned, have never had a standard drive plate and the crankcases have a larger diameter neck.

Ya me too, but never seen a plane with that black piece that holds the nose of the crankcase.

You never know, It could have been a car engine and someone removed the flywheel and installed a drive plate to convert it to airplane use. Maybe?crankbndr wrote:Ya me too, but never seen a plane with that black piece that holds the nose of the crankcase.
I can't tell in the picture, but are there mounting holes in the back plate?
