Re: (Wanted) Fox .35
I guess when you can fly the complete pattern?
Everybody will have their own interpretation of what a beginner is and I guess I use PAMPA classes: Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced and Expert. Obviously your not a total beginner, but in the world of control line aerobatics your are pretty new at it.

Dang! Tough crowd. OK, point taken.
So, at what point do you feel one should go from 1/2A to class C?

Re: (Wanted) Fox .35
your past ready...go for it!
You'll find the bigger stuff a lot easier to control in wind, less jumpy, slower, etc.. Your 1/2a experience will help a lot. I know opinions are like noses, everybody's got one and I'm just trying to help you based on my successes and stupid mistakes! If I was to start again, I'd get a RTF Flight Streak and a cheap used .25 R/C engine, lock the carb open and go fly! Then this winter build you old timer Fox .35 ship.

I agree, by those standards I am more of a beginner. Heck by any standard I'm fine with that. I do fumble around quite a bit still and having the opportunity to watch Ken's son Shawn fly I realize how much I still have to learn. Very humbling to say the least. I do like to build so, maybe I just build one up and work up to it. Thanks for the help Mark.

fox .35
Hey Ron,
I wouldn't say slower..... my S-1 screams around the circle with a fox .35, definitely easier to learn on and great line tension. I would say forget the half A for a while and build a bigger bird, you will love it and learn a lot faster. I'm going from novice to intermediate. Started with a Musciano trainer with a torpedo .15 on it. Easier to fly than a 1/2A. I'm flying the entire beginner pattern with just over a year's flying under my belt. I too like to build and you will love building a bigger bird. Be warned they just keep getting bigger, I'm building a Are's now full fuselage with a I beam wing. I'm loving it. A little about my S-1
I'm flying and old school fox .35 in my scratch built ringmaster S-1. Don't believe the critics. There a good engine if you treat them right. First off change the NVA to a ST .51 and make sure you run it on lots of castor. Don't spend to much on one. Mine was a ten dollar engine. Send me a PM with your e'mail address and I'll find you a cheap one if I can. I come across them a lot. Another alternative is a .35 McCoy redhead. If your interested I can get you a decent one for 15 bucks. Either way I can probably score you a engine. Like I said send me your e'mail address.
