Supplier for Graded Balsa ??
There may be a post that covers this, but thought it might make a good thread in it's self. In a post on Ron's Lil' Satan thread, Ken referenced the use of "C" grade balsa.
Have any of you got a favorite site for buying balsa graded like this? Out here in the sticks, I just sort through the stuff at my Pal's hobby shop, which can run in consistency from white Styrofoam-like wafers to planks of petrified oak.
Scheffers Hobbies in St.Louis has a much larger selection, but it'd be cool to make up a list and order it from a good supplier.

I haven't read that particular post, but I think he may have been referring to C-grain wood. Balsa is classified as A, B and C cuts --- this refers to the location in the log where the sheet was cut and determines how the grain runs in a particular sheet. The following link will explain it more thoroughly:

Lone Star Balsa (Riley Wooten) will hand select for both quality and grain. I have used them several times and have been very pleased at their service and quality.

Thanks ! Both for the balsa info and the reminder about Riley! Gonna hit his site. I'd forgotten that several years ago, I did a phone order from him.
