Batesville Indiana Swap Meet
Hey Guys, There was a swap today at Linvilles Signs and Hobbies. This was their second swap. They had one at a similar date last year. The one last year is actually where I had bought my first Control Line plane. Me and my father headed out this morning around 7:30a.m. When we first walked in it was rather bare. It did not appear as if there was much there. There was a gorgeous PT-19 RC with a diesel in it. There was also a guy selling a ton of engines. Two of which I bought. They were two Norvel .061s. I paid $15 for them. I also bought a Bratco Hexdrone with a RC Bee on it for $20. Both of the Norvels scream. On has been run quite a bit. The other appeared new. I have yet to run the RC Bee. My father bought two Magnum 30 Four Strokes for $30 for the pair. He also bought an engine test stand (which I have use a lot today). One was locked up and neither had a needle valve. He had a box of stuff he let us look through that had some parts. In this box I found the mufflers, one muffler spring, starter spring, and the fuel tank for the Norvels. He told me to just take them. We did not find the Needle Valve for the Magnums but the seller did find a package containing a nva for the Magnum. He told us to take that as well. As we were leaving the guy walked up to me and plopped and engine in my hand and told me to try it out. It was a Norvel .074. It needs a needle valve (.061 needle valve can work), muffler bolts, and the spinner. So today was a good day! I hope to try the Hexdrone tomorrow with one of the Norvels.

Good finds are where you locate them.
I once found a NIB .049 pre-96 "Black Widow" at a neighborhood garage sale for three dollars. I didn't event haggle over that asking price.
