Re: Difference between a 010 and 020
There are two types of .020's. To which one are you refering? PeeWee or TD?

The head is a good indicator. The .020 head looks like a standard .049 head, but taller, skinner post.
The .010 head has wrench reliefs cut into the head instead of the top cooling fin.
Other than that, basically you have to look at the proportions. The .020 TD is a long engine.

I think the easiest way (side on) is the 020's cylinder+head is a much more bulbous affair.

well shoot, I bought a .020 on ebay instead of a .010...... even though it was marked .010.
Re: Difference between a 010 and 020
Still a great engine though. Hope u didn't pay a .010 price for it.

I should also mention that the TD .020 and .010 run pretty much the same price on the Bay. So the price you paid was probably fair. If and when you run it I think you will be pleased. How about a CEF .020?

The .010 only has once type of cylinder, the "thin walled". The step cylinder was on the .020 and up.

Don't feel like the Lone Ranger: http://www.ebay.com/itm/COX-TEE-DEE-010-THIMBLE-DROME-FREEFLIGHT-OR-CONTROL-LINE-/300785628351?pt=Radio_Control_Parts_Accessories&hash=item46083874bf
Checkout the glowplug. Also, 4.5" prop mentioned in description.

Re: Difference between a 010 and 020
I have to say I love my little TD 020, it hand starts with a flip, no starter spring or electric start needed, easy as pie.
I've built a "Charybidis" for mine and modified the tank into a uniflow tank.
The other day I over filled it and the model made off into the distance 1/2 a mile down wind!
You won't be disappointed with it if you use it. Just bought some heads and props off Bernie. Broken two of my Cox grey props and I'm down to my last one!
I mix all my own fuel and I'm running 25 % Oil (50/50 oil using Castrol M castor and Maxima Castor 927), 35% nitro and 40% methanol.
Great engine, love it
Here is a bit of footage of it and a load of other FF models at the recent oily hand day at Cowra in NSW Australia. There's also some footage of my Flying Washboard which is now rebuilt and has a Wen Mac 049 fitted now.
Cheers John

Great vid John did they find the rag?
Travis I've had an 010 and PeeWee strapped to
The front of my Bacaruda. The Td020 is due
On it soon. I doubt that any plane you had
In mind for the 010 wouldn't be improved by
Nailing the 020 on instead.
