Does anyone know when Cox stopped useing the # 4 cylinder and when they start using the screened intake?

According to mh-aerotools.de, circa 1973 is when the screen came out. I don't know about the cylinder.

As far as I know they never stopped using the #4. Unless it was an Estes thing. They did go from 4 booster flutes to 2. I have no idea when, but it was after 1992.

I've noticed the #4 stamp is missing on some of the cylinders.

On the ones I sent? The stamp on those were on the flat on the exhaust port. Very small grab a magnifying glass.

Ron. I was just speaking in general. The stamped #4 cylinders look different than the un stamped from the outside.

Weird, the cylinders were difderent throught the production years. Is that what you are refering to?
Thin walled, stepped, thick walled etc. The porting should be the same inside though. With the exception of the later years with only 2 boost ports

In 2008 we bought the last 400 or so cylinders stamped #4. They were the remaining ones Estes had left when they discontinued manufacturing the Tee Dee .049.
