Re: First man on the moon DEAD!
Sad news indeed.
Oh! I have slipped the surly bonds of Earth
And danced the skies on laughter-silvered wings;
Sunward I’ve climbed and joined the tumbling mirth of sun-split clouds, – and done a hundred things
You have not dreamed of wheeled and soared and swung
High in the sunlit silence. Hov’ring there,
I’ve chased the shouting wind along, and flung
My eager craft through footless falls of air...
Up, up the long, delirious, burning blue
I’ve topped the wind-swept heights with easy grace
Where never lark, nor eer eagle flew –
And, while with silent lifting mind I’ve trod
The high, untrespassed sanctity of space,
Put out my hand and touched the face of God.

Re: First man on the moon DEAD!
Sad to see him go.
It was really only footprints and flags, but I'll never believe it was a waste of time and money no matter the motivation to send the Apollo missions to the moon. I don't know if or how many of the Moonwalkers have passed. My all time favorite astronaut is Buzz Aldrin, except Gordon Cooper, even though I finally had to admit to myself that he truly had become a nut in his later days, but one hell of an interesting character. All of these guys are special people.

As my son said, "He has returned to Tranquility Base".
