Re: Lol moment
Everybody was thinking, "Damn, this is gonna be the best show Ever," and it was all over.
I think I would've paid to see that.

You'll never see anybody hand light fireworks that fast - and live to tell about it.

Wow!. Alot of shells running into each other and fracturing, and then the chain reaction starts back downward. We had a couple collision detonates yesterday when we would do a full tube barrage (15 mortar tubes at once) and had alot of heat right over our heads. 1/2 of our loadout was triple break shells.

Re: Lol moment
Just got the paper and it explained the mishap. A computer glitch set off tens of thousands of shells, on 3 barges, to go off all at once. A 20 min show lasted 20 sec by one press of the keyboard,, big whoops!

RE: LOL moment
About 10 years ago at Georgia's Stone Mountain Park near where I live, the July 4th fireworks display totally went off about a minute into the show when a mortar shell fell over and set off the entire finale!!! It was on top of the mountain and you could plainly see what happened...Probably not to the size of SD but pretty spectacular !!!!
Back in the 80's I was at an Outlaw Sprint Car race in West Memphis, Arkansas on July the Fourth and the track had fireworks.About 2 minutes into the show a large mortar shell detonated too soon about 150 feet above the track. The pit area was full of 10 gallon open cans of methanol racing fuel and many of them exploded too !!!!! No one was seriously engine but it was a "WTF Just Happen" moment !!!!
