I can't seem to find it. I want to get it locally so I can use it tomorrow. I've tried our local Hobbytown USA and they have medium and heavy. Our other LHS is worthless. I tried Hobby Lobby but their search function stinks. Michael's, same thing. Another craft/fabric store... Any ideas?

Rusty, go to Sig manufacturing and find building supplies. The Sig website can be a bit confusing at times. They have cloth and tape in fiberglass. Ken

Try a auto paint supply store Rusty,,or a boat repair shop maybe. If it doesn't explicitly have to be fiberglass,,you could hit a fabric supply shop/store and see what they have. A tight weave silk might do the trick.

Re: light weight fiberglass cloth ribbon
Good ideas, I'll try to hunt some up today.
I need some light reinforcement on the very rear of the fuse, under the stab. It's too flexible and easy to break. It has a crack in it now. Epoxy and glass might be too heavy, so I'll keep looking for other options too. Maybe an L brace of some sort. The last thing I need is more tail weight. I'm going to browse my crummy LHS today too.
I have a 1/2"x1/16" strip of graphite that I could make an L out of.

Re: light weight fiberglass cloth ribbon
What about CF cloth? More expensive, but stronger.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Carbon-Fiber-Cloth-fabric-Twill-weave-3K-100cm-x-30-5cm-39-X12-plain-sheet-/251049857295?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3a73bcd10f#ht_623wt_1181
I don't know if it is available locally though. I have some of that fiberglass stuff somewhere, I'll see what the weight is.

Re: light weight fiberglass cloth ribbon
I silked a entire EDF model with Habotai silk, which has about 1000 threads per inch, which makes it conform to sharp angles very well and makes it very, very strong. I am sold on the stuff.
Your tightest fiberglass weave on the average is about 40 threads per inch. Bigger threads, but harder to conform and shape on the small stuff. And it is heavier per inch.
I know you don't need alot per say,,just food for thought.

Found it. "Flite Lite" may or may not have anything to do with the weight. You can have it if you want it - I'll probably never use it.
It's a little old.

Re: light weight fiberglass cloth ribbon
Thanks Matt. I have a long strip of what looks like that. I'm just going to use it. I only need 3" for the whole job. The epoxy weighs more than the cloth. I went out to the Lexington HS this afternoon and he had no cf mesh, just bars and sticks. I bought some other junk including stick-on weights. I figure any plane that moves as fast as the Streak won't mind a little weight. I hope it doesn't take much up front to counter what I use on the tail repair. I'm not supposed to be having to repair this damn plane yet.
