Cox Engine of The Month
The "Model Airplane Reason" that I didn't fly or work on my planes today!

The "Model Airplane Reason" that I didn't fly or work on my planes today!
Getting my new Chevy HHR outfitted to carry the "kids" ! The plastic cargo surfaces are slick as ice to my gear, so I'm gluing in sections of carpet to allow my velcro-bottomed-pegboard-airplane decks some gripping surface. The passenger seats fold flat, and their back-sides got the same treatment.
While I was busy wrecking my shop, I replaced the plastic spare tire cover panel with a healthy chunk of flooring ply, also covered in gray carpet, for my field boxes and such. The light-weight shelf works for planes, with more room on top of the folded passenger seats.
The little HHR gets about 30 mpg...the same as the Miata...and will let me take a lot more of the family on outings !
Now, maybe the Baby Wulf and Q-tee can get some attention !

Oh yeah ! I'm gonna have the Helmet Cam running on it's first flight! DO OR DIE !!! I shall employ the usual-shameless-video-exposure of my exploits...reputation be cast to the sharks !!!!
I got to track down Rory and recover my Badger airbrush from the yehoo !!! He's building "an historically REALLY correct replica of the Titanic", but they could probably build a life-size replica by the time he gets his done !

Man, Rory's doing EVERYTHING !!!! He's a year overdue on giving his wife a baby and is living like Ben Gazzara in the old TV series "Run for Your Life" !!!
His "Pre-Baby Bucket List" has included: multiple overseas vacations, caving (spelunking), SCUBA Spelunking, new Paint Ball Guns and Accessories, assorted plastic model replica acquisitions, TONS of time with his Church Youth Group (admirable, but not a replacement for what his wife is demanding!), aggressive cross-country hiking (out for days, purifying his own water), and assorted other semi-suicidal endeavors !
I'm worried that if he falls down some dark hole, I MIGHT not get my airbrush back !

Yeah...it'll run it's course...I've seen it plenty of times before. It's just that he's an only child, and is terrified at the weight of it all. That's really not a bad thing...there are plenty of people who squirt kids like hamsters, with never a thought to how they'll raise them.
I think he'll be a great father once the struggling is over ! I get to watch train wreck from my safe place on a hill !!!

There actually is talk (how serious I don't know) of building a fullsize replica Titanic here in Belfast, some people wanted it done in time for the 100th anniversary, but that's past now. After all, Harland & Wolfe are still here, as is the Titanic drydock. Now THERE would be a modelling project!

Well, if on the outskirts of the drydock, you come across a 30-something dude, camping in tent and airbrushing a plastic Titanic model with a nice, Badger 2-Stage airbrush, tackle him and send the airbrush back to me !
