(SOLD) Tee Dee .049 with Tarno carb
Cox Tee Dee .049 with Tatone carb. I looked over the engine itself and could not find any indication of any use. The cylinder and piston appear new, as does the carb body, glow head and spinner. The chrome is clean the prop drive plate has so scratches.
$50.00 shipped OBO. Sorry about the crappy pictures. PM me if interested.

How much do I owe you? I will then issue the credit.
I have one collet here that came off an engine. Looks unused but outside has a bit of tarnish. You can have it pro-bono but remind us to add it to your next order. If we make TD engines will will have collets as regular stock.
Ship to:

Sure, we'll add it to the other 4,200 we still have in stock
Re: (SOLD) Tee Dee .049 with Tarno carb
well...is that yellow prop one from Bernie or an old one from the 70s?
Not saying its worth anything more if it is old, just something to hang on to.

Re: (SOLD) Tee Dee .049 with Tarno carb
I don't know. It came with the engine along with a couple like new Tee Dee's and a Medallion .049. I bought them from pictures and just had a gut feeling about the lot. Sometimes you get lucky.

Re: (SOLD) Tee Dee .049 with Tarno carb
To my knowledge yellow safety tip props are our invention and have never been moulded before.
Re: (SOLD) Tee Dee .049 with Tarno carb
Yup definitely no Yellow 5x3 safety tips before!Cox International wrote:To my knowledge yellow safety tip props are our invention and have never been moulded before.
Next how about 6x3 yellow?
Re: (SOLD) Tee Dee .049 with Tarno carb
Same but maybe there would be too much prop for it to keep rigid enough to work.microflitedude wrote:Yellow 6x3?
I'd buy some.

Wait wait wait! I have one and I HAVE PICTURES!
The darker one without the sticker is from the late 70s and is a 5x3 prop. The brighter one with the sticker is of course Bernie's! The 70s one has some damage from a spring starter so its useful days are over...
Re: (SOLD) Tee Dee .049 with Tarno carb
Hm, interesting on the old "yellow" ones. The shop that has the mould said they only began moulding Safety Tip ones early 2000.
Does the old one have "Cox Hobbies" stamped on it or something else?
No 6" possible as the mould is lost/scrapped.

Well, it does say "Cox Hobbies" on it. According to a friend's dad (Steve ) who hasn't flown model planes since the early 80s, he has had the prop since the late 70s along with all the 1970 style engines. I would guess that I obtained it around 2005 or so as that is when he started to pull all that stuff out of the attic and I got my hands on most of the cox stuff he had as he was really interested in flying large planes.
Re: (SOLD) Tee Dee .049 with Tarno carb
I just called over there and asked him if he for sure remembers having that prop before the year 2000 as they don't recall ever making them before that year. He still claims he didn't buy any cox plane or any props since the 1980s.
Re: (SOLD) Tee Dee .049 with Tarno carb
I would have to look into when the name "Cox Hobbies" was first used as all the other props are stamped "Thimble Drome".
Re: (SOLD) Tee Dee .049 with Tarno carb
All the Leisure Dynamics stuff I have has "Cox Hobbies Inc." printed on it. My Cox Battery is one of them, a Cox motor mount also has that as well as a few manuals from the Leisure Dynamics era.
