Cox Engine of The Month
Interesting weekend

Interesting weekend
Well it did stop raining for nearly 7 hours yesterday........
This allowed me to 'adjust' 3 planes. The bacaruda's
mount after half dozen arrivals/Peewee next weekend.
The O/T's unscheduled early return when one of it's 2 engines packed up
about 5 seconds into it's twin maiden/15 mins and a bucket of cyano sometime this
week.
Finally our dear old club trainer which you can see in all it's glory in the
first 3 seconds of the above.
Veteran of 500 plus flights and in 'someones' custody for the last 2 years.
After the above the wind got up and after 7 or so buddy sessions I flew
2 (OK 1 and a bit) more flights of a chuck it around aerobatic nature.....
My own words come back to haunt me "Always check your airframe on landing
and again before take off" I tell my pupils....
I didn't on the final. I now realise my snaps and rolling circles along with the 25 knot
gusts must've weakend the tail.
So takeoff into wind large gust, bank left left left hangon that's going right, behind
the flight line, give the obigatory 'Lookout' call, fight for what seemed an age but was
probably 2 seconds to avoid the cars, shut throttle straight into pits.
Moral Check Check then Check before take off, just like the real thing.
Lots of cyano, epoxy and honing building 'skills' this week.

Did the powerpod worked as expected?
Certainly did Bastiaan.
Just a bit of plastic but very well designed, nicely
made and did what it said on the tin.
