Norvel Is back in Business!!
I'm not sure how old this news is, but I just found out that Norvel is back in business.
nvengines.com
I just ordered a new .061 / tank mount for my Bratco Hexdrone Control Line wing.
I will do a review and flight report once I get the engine.

Here is my Norvel .061 R/C version and a bit of a review.

I have a .061 C/L version still on the stand,,tweaking it, finding a good head shim selection with a Nelson/Galbreath head setup. The R/C version liked one shim, and so far this C/L version wants two at least.

Cool, what do you think they will end up on?
Re: Norvel Is back in Business!!
The NV site has only been up for about 2 years by now I think... Most of their stuff seems to be new old-stock, apart from the diesel heads.
Here are some numbers for a well run .061 RC on 10% Nitro;
6x3 graupner prop: 18200rpm
5x4 cox prop : 20500rpm
5x3 APC: 23500rpm

Shawn,
Give us a flight report when you get your Bratco HexDrone up and flying. I did a YouTube search awhile back for "HexDrone" and found a number of videos of club flying and C/L Combat. The club had about 15 of them and they really are screamers with the Big Mig .061 engines. I have one but after the video, I know my reflexes couldn't handle a HexDrone without a lot of rust removal practice.

Will do on the flight report.
I've seen a few videos of the Hexdrone as well and they look like a lot of fun. I can't wait to get mine in the air!

Been in contact with Alex Frish at NV recently, I think he is there US sales rep or one of them, althought the moneys sent go to a address in Long beach CA and definitely a Russian name at the top.
Had a .049 Big Mig piston and cylinder set on backorder and was made aware that it would be in this month, which it is ,along with the other items that were on backorder, such as seals, gaskets, spinners, muffler springs, ect. So either they found a warehouse full of old/new stuff in the RF or they are cranking out new stuff,,or both.

My new .061 came in yesterday when I was at work. So I am going to start a new thread here in the off topic section.66 Malibu wrote:Shawn,

Pics please. They will help in deciding if NV is selling newly manufactured parts and engines or NOS.
