Cox Engine of The Month
When is enough actually enough?

When is enough actually enough?
It's no secret that I'm moving.....however, I can't shut this stupid obsession off. While most people would be packing and shutting down, here I am collecting more engines!
I have exactly 6 days left at this address and I have coming to me.......
Super Tigre .10
Pee Wee from Fred
Medallion .09(my first medallion)
TD .020
.049 cylinder from Mark B
And finally a package from John Boy!
Goodnight! Talk about cutting things close. I am no longer going to even look at Ebay......

Re: When is enough actually enough?
I prefer the classic rationalization technique that always begins with something like; "Well I COULD be ______________ ."
The blank space is filled in with whatever disgusting, pathetic, or stupid activity or condition so as to make the original behavior appear benign by comparison:
"Laying in the gutter, drinking from a paper bag"
"Stealing Senior Citizens' Social Security Checks"
"Running for Public Office"
"Selling used cars"
ect.
While this tends to be very effective for the younger set, it grows somewhat sad for an older guy who is expected to know better...but you use what you got !

Yeah John ! Notice how I rather craftily steered around the legal and religious professions, in spite of their obvious candidacy for first place (bottom) on the list !!!

Everything made it with time to spare.
The Super Tigre and Medallion ended up being an O.S. .10 and a TD .09........

Hope you hadn't paid Super Tigre prices for an OS! TD instead of a Medallion .09 though, nice!

Re: When is enough actually enough?
Nope freebies!
One of those " Hey I hear you like old engines" kinda deal.
Yeah I was happy when I saw the TD. He had said it had a black cylinder and a red body so I assumed it was a medallion. Don't have a clue how he came up with the red as it was black as night.
The OS is an older one it says Max OS .10 on the cylinder body and FS stamped into the mount tab. I have no clue about it.
I wish I had a PC so I could post pics. The OS came with an extra Tatone muffler. I have no clue what it fits and it doesn't fit a Cox or the OS.

I have received many things that way. Just by asking and seeking.
Folks have this stuff and they don't want it and are happy to give it away.
"Seek and ye shall find, ask and it shall be given unto you"
Superdave, I have asked myself that question. I just haven't been able to answer it yet.

Re: When is enough actually enough?
I never own very many engines at once. They constantly come and go, as I refurbish them. I make plenty of money off of this, but I always end up keeping an engine or trading. I have about six engines right now. I keep track of it all in a document. - this amount, + that amount, etc. I try to seldom let it go below 0. It' kind of like a bank account.
A lot of motors have passed through my hands and I thoroughly enjoy it. Some I will never sell like my TD .049, KB .051, and BW.

I can help anyone seeking to kick the habit.
Simply send all of your engines to me.

Re: When is enough actually enough?
I just thought, in the last week or so I've had a bath each
Morning instead of a shower so I can look at this thing when
Immediately out of bed.
I think it may be becoming a problem, so I'm definitely not
Going to buy any more.
Tonight
Probably
