Was pitting a racer at a big race and had a squeeze bottle failure, the filling cap popped off and I got a lexan body rebounded high pressure double dose of 30% right in the face. Not fun at all. Stumbled away from pit alley and dunked my head in the nearest cooler to no avail. Just have to wipe and wait, or if you have Dawn dishwash soap, start scrubbing your face and eye corners with big soapy handfulls.
Either way, you will look like you just stumbled out of a Greatful Dead concert.

A 'rite of passage' in most English school kids lives is the cross channel French 'cultural' day trip.
This is variously a chance for the teachers to get off with one another, stock up on cheap
booze, fags and for their charges to run amok in a foreign country.
It is mandatory to purchase flick knives, fireworks and CS gas.
Which are then smuggled back inside the French bagettes that you bought for Mum.

Ouch! To all of ya! I only got it in one eye, the one in line with the vent!
The only thing I have done in comparison Keith was pulling a fuel line off of an MG that was under pressure. Misery!
Both eyes, was in a detached garage tried to get my wife to hear me and of course she didn't. Had to make my way back to the house on my hands and knees. I vowed then and there that my workshops will always have a slop sink installed.

Re: Glow fuel!!!!!
LOL, smuggling bottle rockets and tear gas back in the french Baguette's,,classic.
To true Ron, was replacing a fuel filter on my sisters fuel injected Ford truck, popped that line off of the filter and got a high pressure full face and upper body shower of gas, under the truck, on the creeper, wedged under there with limited hands or body movement, on my back.
Damn Fords!!

Keith:
RTFM re: chaning pressurized Ford fuel filters.
First you should depressurize the system by shutting of the fuel pump then run the engine until it runs out of fuel. There is a switch for that purpose located under the floor mat near the center of the transmission hump.
Dumb is a dumb does.

Re: Glow fuel!!!!!
Proper method that will not damage an injector(s) by running dry, is to release the preassure under the hood at the schrader valve (usually found on passenger side top of engine on the fuel rail behind a yellow or red tire valve cap) It is put there specifically for the purpose of service on the fuel system.

Re: Glow fuel!!!!!
WELL, Keith, didn't you attempt to change the fuel-filter on your sister's Ford truck, hmmmmm?
You just very lucky that you didn't have a droplight under the truck with you. Can you guess what happens when pressurized fuel hits a hot light bulb????

Re: Glow fuel!!!!!
Well, it wouldn't have been so bad if Ford didnt bury it in on the frame rail behind a bunch of other not needed trinkets.
Yup, lucky I didnt turn into a PV Pilot flambe.

Re: Glow fuel!!!!!
The fuel pump switch is NOT on the frame rail, Keith, it's inside the cab under the floor mat near the center of the transmission hump.
All kidding aside, do you realize that people have been seriously burned or killed doing wnat you did?????

Well Dave, the fuel FILTER on her truck, which was what I was trying to replace, was buried on the frame rail. The electrics were off and the fuel switch worked fine. truck was cold and LUCKILY the shop light was placed far enought away.
Yes, have heard, read and seen people at the race track and elswhere get singed from high pressure, high octane fuel flashing over due to spillage and hot contact. alcohol fire is the worst,,you cant see nothing but heat waves and by then it is too late.
I am lucky to be sitting here,,not doubt about that,, have cheated the grim reaper more times than I like to count due to fast cars, bikes or stupid mistakes,,or all of the above.

Wow, the Fox. Saw the movie "Shaft" there in '71.
Great Isaac Hayes soundtrack.
Yikes, I remember. What a theater.
Onion rings at "The Varsity" after.

I saw the opening of Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid there in the 7th grade. That was the class Florida trip. We toured NASA and saw a Saturn V in the VAB.dckrsn wrote:
