Weed Wackers
Not Cox related, but it is IC related.
As I have said before, me and my brother do yard work to earn money. We used an old electric weed wacker, and sometimes had to use 5 extension cords. Not everybody had outdoor outlets either. So, we bought a used Ryobi wacker off Craigslist for $40. The seller was really nice, and showed us how to start it, use it, etc. We took it home, but it wouldn't start - not even fire.
Me and my dad were looking at rims for the go kart at Norther Tool, and saw a new wacker for $60. We bought it along with some additive the is supposed to "neutralize" the ethanol in gas by breaking down the water and evenly distributing it amongst the fuel. After putting the stuff in, both wackers cranked right up and ran great.
Turns out the guy we bought the first one from went on a bus with my dad to Washington DC... Small world.

Re: Weed Wackers
Yeah, good story!
I bought that Snow Pup a few years ago off craigslist and it ran just fine when I was there buy once I got home with it, it ran poor and then didn't run at all. I ended up rebuilding the carb with a new kit and it ran just fine after that! For what snow we had last season, that is mostly what I used. Great that you got it running after all!

Cool story Matt, thanks for sharing.
A little bit of Sta-bil in your fuel mix works wonders. Alot of folks toss those gas powered yard implements down after the season, never to touch them again until the next,,then wonder why they wont do what they did last season, or operate as quick or as smooth. Especially on a snow blower. I am guilty of tossing the tools down.
All you need is this stuff in with the fuel.

They also make Iso-Heet which is a really good water absorber/injector cleaner for year round. This stuff gets circulated thru the 56 chevy fuel system when it gets parked for the season.

I have a Homelite 30CC weedwacker that I bought severly used for $15, probably 10-11 years ago, all I have ever used on it was Sta-Bil in the fuel mix. I toss it down every season after I am done, and when I pick it back up again the following, it starts right up after 3-4-5 pulls. Same spark plug it came with,, never changed.

Re: Weed Wackers
Thanks for the suggestions.
Does Sta-bil have any form of alcohol in it? Yeah, we have never used any storage additive after summer. Have not had any problems though. I think the stuff we bought should work for storage.
We are going to sell the old one, to fund the new one.

Your 5% proprietary secret ingredient might be alcohol. Sta-bil wont say because it is proprietary.
What I know is that the Sta-bil works really good, and where I live we see all of the extremes from 18°F to 110°F, along with it being very wet around here for a great part of the year.
