Cox Pusher Props
Hello. I recently bought a CL kit that will require a Cox engine set up as a pusher. Rather than get new spring and run my engine backwards, I would just like to get a 5x3 pusher prop. I checked exmodelengines.com and coxengines.com, neither have the fore mentioned prop. They only have three blades. Anyone out there have one I can buy?

Could use it as one, just mount it backwards on the engine.
Here is the same, but normal rotation

Pv: If you look at it you can tell it is a pusher

um... no... definitely a tractor prop. The image was digitally flipped so that we have two different ones but I can see what problem that causes lol.
Re: Cox Pusher Props
So Bernie, do you have a 5x3ish prop for sale? I rather not do three blade. 5x4, 6x3 and all those work good too.

We have no real pusher props for sale, only a LH 3-blade that can be mounted hub-reversed and run RH to arrive at a pusher configuration.
We also have a 6X2 LH that can be used in this fashion (the one that was used on the PT-19) but do not have it listed because the surface fishish shows hairline cracks when bent.
The prop is solid and is break-resistant but should be boiled before first usage to get rid of this crackling.
They would cost 10 for $4.95.

A 6x2? How well will that perform for CL?

That's what they were designed for; hight rate of climb, stunt and performance.
A 6x2 tractor prop?
I want a 6x2 tractor prop. Anyone know if there is any place I can get a few of those?
I see APC has what they call a 6x2 free flight prop. Any reason that wouldn't make a good stunt prop? I wonder how well a 2"pitch prop would work if I cut it down to 5.5" or 5.25."

they call it that because they are commonly used for .049 ff planes.

Bernie, you better check that, the text in both pics are correct and not just flipped/mirrored.
Re: Cox Pusher Props
Oh, I misunderstood. I thought LH meant pusher. So I can e-mail Nichole and get some of those. 10 should be a lifetime supply. Thanks Bernie.Cox International wrote:RknRusty wrote:I want a 6x2 tractor prop. Anyone know if there is any place I can get a few of those?

Re: Cox Pusher Props
LH = Left Hand, meaning you will need to run the engine counterclockwise, which all Cox reedies do.
I will pull the box from storage and list some tomorrow but you can email Nichole and she will take care of you.

Re: Cox Pusher Props
I might grab a 5 pack of those also.
Put all them up Bernie, with the no guarantee wording and boiling suggestion. can't sell them if they are not shown,,but I understand your concern as well.

It's a vertical mirror-flip through photoshop. The COX HOBBIES INC is the give-away. Cox never made a pusher 5x3 safety tip prop.

Here is the listing:

Re: Cox Pusher Props
Unfortunately, I'm running a Tee Dee and a Medallion. I guess I'm stuck with the APC free flight props. I hear APC is really good if you can avoid getting cut. Since I'm anticoagulated, I think I'll be extra careful.
