Original Equipment Manufacturer, as in "genuine"

Re: WTB (or trade) Cox engines for my personal collection
If the engine was made by Cox and never altered then, yes, it would be considered OEM.
Re: WTB (or trade) Cox engines for my personal collection

Thanks Tom.
However, as I grow ever-increasingly tired of sellers like such, I try to avoid buying from them rather than reward them for their narrow-mindedness.
It's a buyer's market and, if sellers want to impose restrictions, they are just hurting their sales.

Re:WTB (or trade) Cox engines for my personal collection
I have a new in original box Cox Conquest complete with paperwork and tools.
No silencer or spinner. Box is marked RC version but the competition venturi is fitted.
There is no RC carb.
Does anyone have an idea of price.

It's a buyer's market If you can find another golden bee in that cond...
It's not so much narrow mindedness as much as it is freight.
When I first started this it took me a while to feel comfortable selling international I was scared, scared of the customs form, scared to loose money scared of a lot of things. Now, most of the time I sell with international shipping close to at cost/ at very/ little profit to myself which is a huge advantage bc everyone is so scared to ship international.
I think you're punishing yourself rather than than that seller, In all my cox experience I have never seen a golden bee NIB and especially not that packaging!
Re: WTB (or trade) Cox engines for my personal collection
Tom,
Shipping an engine from the US to Canada is $4, so ok, charge a buyer 6 bucks. The CN 22 form needs 3 or 4 words/figures written into the little boxes, that it.
But then, if someone has never shipped anything outside of their country's borders it may be seen as intimidating.
The engine may pull $75 in the USA (just a guess) and likely over $100 from an overseas buyer.
The one thing I have noticed when buying from sellers that only ship within the USA (I use a USA address) is that about 1/2 end up being problem transactions. I guess it's just the mentality of those sellers.

Did Cox ever make TD 020 engines with black tanks and carb bodies? I do know Mecoa has the parts but I have never seen a TD 020 with black plastic.
The NIB Spook engine will set you back $230 as that is what the last one went for.

No they never did make them, I never was sure why MECOA made them but a black and honey coloured engine does look good.Jason_WI wrote:Did Cox ever make TD 020 engines with black tanks and carb bodies? I do know Mecoa has the parts but I have never seen a TD 020 with black plastic.

Here is a classic example of what happens when USA sellers don't understand that there is life beyond their borders:
http://www.ebay.ca/itm/230765756291?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1438.l2649
The bid was well over $100 and would perhaps have been outbid had the seller not restricted shipping to the the USA (actually, he even restricted that by omitting shipping to certain parts of the USA).
Some sellers don't get it - I would have gladly paid $125 for the engine and so would have other potential buyers in other countries. But now I get an OEM packaged Golden Bee for $56, less that I am charging for my present-day clone
Tom Suica, thank you so much for pointing out this listing and not bidding on it!
