Cox Engine of The Month
Waiting for Engines from Ken Enya
Waiting for Engines from Ken Enya
I was able to order some engines from Ken Enya and it took over 4 months to where Ken had them built.
The are:
3 x Enya 11CX T.V. with muffler
2 x Enya .09-IV with muffler
1 x Enya 19-VI with muffler
1 x Enya SS-25D T.V. with muffler
1 x Enya SS-45 T.V. with muffler
Not saying what the cost of the engines are, but 4 months is a long time to wait.
I could get a 36-4CD if I wait the 4 months for that engine at $380.00 (plus shipping) for it?
Anyway, Ken emailed me that he shipped it out Aug. 12th and it was to be at my house on the 20th?
Well, Japan Customs had other ideas.
Ken did email me that there was a problem initially with "engines" being restricted by the Japan's Aviation law of hazardous items, so Ken had to re-due the paperwork as "model motor parts".
Then ship them out again on the 20th of Aug.
Below is the tracking of my engine package.
It was held up for almost 6 days at the Japan Customs office to verify that the package was not hazardous.
When finally released, it then was shipped to Los Angeles, California, then to Cincinnati, Ohio, now to Franklin Park, Illinois (probably now by semi-truck?)
So probably one of those jets (in the sky), flew over my house with my package in it?
I know it had to go to DHL transport hub in Cincinnati, Ohio, but I wonder why sometimes why packages travel farther than they need to?
Anyway, I should get the engine in the next day or two?

Re: Waiting for Engines from Ken Enya
I currently fly the Enya .25SS control line on a Sterling profile. This is a true powerhouse engine. A bit weird to get used to but it's reliable. I can only imagine this engine in a diesel configuration. It's extremely well built and I bet it would be a real dream as a diesel.

Re: Waiting for Engines from Ken Enya
Well, the engines arrived from Japan today at 11:38am (31/08/2024)
I have photos where the box was opened to look at the contents:
Shipping from Ken Enya (Enya Manufacturing) to me:
Letter to Ken Enya that the package is not a restricted items inside the package, as there is no hazardous material on these "engines" as the word "engines" are restricted items on the "Japan Aviation Regulations".
Inside are the pre-purchased engines that I have waited for almost 4 months.
O.K. -- top left in the box is the Enya 11CX with muffler, next one down on the left is the 2nd Enya 11CX with muffler, below that is the Enya 19-VI with muffler.
Now the next row in the middle.
An Enya 15CX-TN ----- WHAT? I DIDN'T ORDER THE 15CX-TN?
Well, o.k. Maybe Ken Enya didn't have enough engine parts to build another 11CX engine.
Ken did tell me he would try to do his best building the engines that he could (from parts)?
Anyway, the next one down under the 15CX-TN is the Enya .09-IV with muffler and under that one is the other Enya .09-IV with muffler.
Now for the last two "Big" boxes.
One is the Enya SS-45 Ring engine and the last is the Enya SS-25D diesel engine.
I then went on to inspect each engine in each box.
Of course, I wanted to check out the Enya 15CX-TN as Ken didn't charge me more for this engine.
I opened up the box and inside it was:
Yup! That is an Enya 11CX engine with muffler and the paperwork for a 11CX engine to go with it.
Maybe, someone grabbed the wrong box cover (15CX-TN) and not a box cover for the Enya 11CX?
No wonder I didn't get charged more for the 15CX-TN because it is the CX-11 I ordered.
OH, well, I'll just whiteout the 15CX-TN and write-in the 11-CX there?
