Cox Engine of The Month
My PT-19 COX Clone design/kit

My PT-19 COX Clone design/kit
Some time ago, I had been mulling over fixing my Cox PT-19 enough to fly it. As clunky as they were, the thrill I got as a kid in the 70s when I first cut my teeth on C/L flying is still a vivid memory. The last time i flew it was probably 10 years ago. The problem we have is that plane can run between 100 and 300 dollars depending on condition. And paying that much for a plastic mediocre at best performer is, well, crazy. So after much thought, I began taking measurements, and drawing. In a few weeks time I have a prototype to build.
After a month, I had a working model and now have made over 48 full kits for fellow flyers.. all in the last 30 days.
Designed around the same look and flight-feel of the plastic original, the “PT Clone” flies much faster with a baby bee so much that 45’ lines are necessary unless you want to fall down dizzy. LOL
i am happy to offer these kits to interested flyers who want to capture that PT thrill without dumping a ton of money into a plastic plane. It is an easy build and can be done in one evening. I even painted it with Rustoleum Protective Gloss enamel and after a few weeks of curing it was still fuel proof.

Re: My PT-19 COX Clone design/kit
I like it.
A few years back another member offered similiar kits (I have forgotten his name but Eric will fill us in) to members here. Some of us bought them and modified them to their own specifics. I chose the a "Yellow Peril" scheme others the same, others a little different. It would be fun to do the same with your kit if you have enough takers.
What are the numbers?

Great job, Mr. Peter,
I've enjoyed watching this come together on Facebook. I was wondering how long before you brought it here.
Bob,
Were you thinking Keith Morgan's coroplast PT-19?
Or were you thinking this one?

Oddly, while searching for the Sterling above I discovered a post here for a Scientific PT-19 with what appears to be their common symmetric wing ribs, a box fuselage and plastic turtledeck. I never knew it existed or failed to remember the post. Odd, given my fascination with Scientific kits:

Jim and Eric. I have been wrestling with his name ever since yesterday, then just as i logged on to this thread the name Roger Harris popped into my head. "When push comes to shove"
Thanks Eric, maybe I will remember it this time, but stand by.
I wonder how many here would sign on to another build thread centering on this model................................
Rogers thread here:

Lots of takers, Fred, Rene among them.

HAHA I haven't even finished the Bipe , just need to find all the painted parts and do it 1/2 way done . I got the micro ringmaster broken when arrived the Joe sent me his so I could build it but the instruction sheet is so blurred would make it hard for me to line wing parts up Tried to get Roger to clean it up and shoot it to me but he has got a lot on his plate so I have not said anything a bout it in a while .. I feel like i am letting some friends down by not building the kits i have gotten from then even some from you too Bob .
