TD .049/.051
I was wondering if I could purchase a TD from somebody here. I would like the thick walled cylinder.
Can't go over $25.
Thanks, Matt

Re: TD .049/.051
Matt,
A TD complete and useable for $25 may be a tall order. However, someone may have one too many and may be willing to set you up. I have 1 .049 and 2 .051's all of them are spoken for. One is in use on my hummer and the .051's are for my shrike twin.
$35 would probably snag a nice used one of Ebay.

I got a pristine used TD .051 for $32 last month on eBay. I don't think it had ever been on a plane. It did need some de-gumming, but there was no visible wear.

Yeah I drop crankcases on ebay for 25 shipped. It looks rough but it's gorgeous a RD engine from estes who knows what porting or whatever... I guess I will rip it apart and sell it in parts. I haven`t pulled an engine apart in like 2 years I still have all my special home made tools and like 5 copies of each wrench plus a few AL handle wrenches I got from RD I have been hoarding.

Yeah And I just won $1500 worth of un used us stamps for $250 http://www.ebay.com/itm/330696802419?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649
You may be asking yourself "what moron ends a $1500 FV in stamps 2 pm on a wed?" There's 1 born every few minutes...Apparently
It's all about when you bid and how you bid and how much you bid. AND A LITTLE LUCK I bid $750 on it... Hey Microflite dude Buy YES, BUY a program called http://www.baygenie.com/register.html Don't just download it from a torrent site they'll hack your trash, Set up your trash to bid on items people set to end at weird hours 9 am-3 or 4 pm weekdays You'll win all kinds of stuff and GRRRRRRRRRRRRR people off.
theres some free bidding tools out there I have only experience with this 1 so Ba Blam!

Recently got a nice used TD .051 for $40 from a fellow member who shipped it for free. When I sent him a check, as a courtesy, I included the postage although I didn't have to.
(Note: payment by personal check rather than credit card? How often does that happen?)
Why do you imagine that ocurred?

'Cause you're an old curmudgeon and don't need none of them newfangled cards and electronic transfers.SuperDave wrote:Recently got a nice used TD .051 for $40 from a fellow member who shipped it for free. When I sent him a check, as a courtesy, I included the postage although I didn't have to.

Oh, harsh! Not true on either count.
Because I established level of friendship and trust with a member here on CECF. We made the arrangement, he sent the engine, I received the engine then I sent him a personal check.
No E-Bay cut, no PayPal "ding" simple as that. He's pleased, I'm pleased. What could be better than that?

It's also hard to GIVE trust. Many times it has to be earned to be received.

Yes I KNOW were kidding because you included "smilies" as I did in my previous response.
My engine purchase arrangement with the other member came off smoothly because we had previously established a good relationship here on the forum. He send it to me on approval before making a commitment to buy.
How much more courtious could a seller be? In return I paid the postage although he did not expect me to do it.

Re: TD .049/.051
Had a veteran ebay seller trust me to the tune of about $285. I had never purchased from him before, never talked to the man, never anything before. I intially was just purchasing a KK pressure backplate for a Tee Dee and ended up with a NIP tarno carb, PAW diesel 29 delux kit NIB (R/C carb & C/L needle set), another Tee Dee .051 with a pressure plate, a NIP taper grind 049 Tee Dee piston and cyl, some other stuff.
I was asking for surround pictures on items before he put them in the box and he obliged. As we went he was "if you are not satisfied, just return". No payment until I unboxed and inspected. He lives across the border in Canada.
Talked to him once by phone for just a few minutes, just to put a voice to the name .
That trust is out there, but it is very very rare and increasingly so.
