Stuff I used to have before I sold my soul
Some of the stuff I had before selling it to Matt and Bernie and reggie
All that stuff got sold to matt reg and bernie
I'm gonna be getting a NEW shipment o all different new parts very soon from a new secret source. This time I'm not selling anything to Bernie or Matt

Re: Stuff I used to have before I sold my soul
So if you had not sold all that stuff, would you have been using any of it? What's your attraction to Cox engines and parts?

Think of I like this.
You selling to Bernie and Matt and Reggie helped most of us.

I remember a few years ago, there were several TeeDee .020 crankcase assemblies on e-bay.
Iirc, they were reasonably priced. Woulda-coulda.........

Full Story here http://coxengineforum.forumakers.com/t1720-introducktion
I have been messing with 1/2a (Cox mostly) I also had a few testors wenmacs go through my hands. I started as buying lots of old junky engines completely dismantling then and repairing them and re selling them. Most of the questions I see people ask on the forums I had to figure out myself and though Trial an error. I destroyed Many a cox engines being inpatient or un-knowledgeable. And sometimes they are just too far gone to fix... After about 1 year of buying fixing and selling. A good friend of mine was hired to head the RD dept at estes/cox and they sold me the remainder of the parts that were supposed to go to the crusher. Then I started selling New cox parts.
I had an ebay store at the same time I was just messing around with some drugs and bad shicaca before pulling my head out of my ass so i peed it all away sold it quick and did not work hard. Let this be an example Especially to you Microflitedude. See what I had;' I had everything I wanted and peed it all away don't be a screw up like I was. When your friends have a bowl of weed and say Smoke? laugh in their face and loose those friends. Be better than I was then they offer you coke or meth RUN! Look at all those pretty engines! RUN Literally and never look back. There are a million stories about how people got messed up off drugs I got lucky I stopped so soon. My embarrassment to admit such horrible things about the past is lessons for y'all to learn and embarrass myself to remind myself of where I was

Second you 049. Congrats for coming back. I know it is hard, as I was in a very similar situation. Good friends, good times. Just that a JOB got in my way. Almost lost it due to it all. Started with drinking, then the stuff you mentioned. Only good thing was REAL friends that helped bring me back. As well, on those 'down days', I always had a plane or two that needed and wanted me to do something to it. Thanks for sharing, and we will be here...., just as this hobby was for you.

Yep, I've met the cold turkey too.
You really should try to get out there with a control line and fly. It's fun as hell and a very inexpensive hobby.

Been there, done that. I don't remember much of the 70's. Just a flying pig at a Pink Floyd concert and a dog named Boo.

Took a break from ZZ Top concert and walked out into the corridor area,,watched someone else come out thru the big double doors. It was like a housefire smoke cloud swirling out.
No wonder my eyes were burning and I forgot my name,, had a unfeedable craving for Haggen Das.

Selling your soul
Didn't think I'd find a thread like this here. Interesting. Never "sold my soul" but I did "rent it out" for for about 30 years. Kinda like "you name it, I did it". Often cost me a lot in meny ways. Don't like to about that. .049, you didn't really "sell your soul" or you would't be here to post. Very glad things worked out for you and pray that it will continue. Cool looking "stuff" you "lost". Have "lost" much stuff in my life but always seem to get it back and more. Hope you will to.

Re: Stuff I used to have before I sold my soul
Sorry, I don't see the point in playing "True Confessions" here on the forum. Life consists of choices both good and bad. Why not write of the "positives" in our lives and not bemoan the "negatives"? What purpose is being served?
If there are "lessons" to be learned from the negatives, it will take far more than an internet forum to impart them meantime the forum's purpose is distracted. Bad descisions yield their own "rewards" and CECF is not, IMO, a "therapy session".
Upward and onward.

Stuff
I think its good to admit to former problem. We all have our vices. By sharing this now he can come into the sunshine. Regain all that is lost and more if need be. I played semi-pro lead guitar and seen many lost souls. Sometimes quite ugly and what a waste. Anyway best with new future and happy days ahead. You will do it.

"true confessions"
I agree with SuperDave that this is not the forum for "True confessions". We should all confine ourselfs to posting about tiny toys with tiny motors. As for me, I am here for the "therapy". I'm told I can use all I can get. Think they are right. Try explaining why a 60 y.o. man wants to "play" with a childs toy to a "sane" person. Not easy to do. So my "therapy" continues in this "asylum" until I'm cured or released.

By todays standards would these be classified as toys?

Not having any "skeletons hanging in the closet" perhaps I am the exception here or so it would seem. Others may not be so fortuneate I fully realize.
I just question the benefit to the forum of the recent disclosures. It what way will they attract others to join?

I figure that anything you have that is there for fun, and not required for day-to-day survival could be called a "toy". Bikes, rifles, jeeps, hotrods, and such. A life without toys WOULD be kinda dull...

Why not just move it to the "Off topic" section?
All kinds of discussions in there not remotely related to anything Cox. This discussion is no better or worse than anything else in there.
