Couldnt Fly Sat Morn So Crabs instead
Saturday here and windy as all............. Couldnt fly, so walked down the street to our almost private jetty with 8 fish heads and 2 crab nets. 1 hour later I stopped with 10 blue swimmer crabs and walked home to cook them and eat them. I am eating them now whilst I write this. Yes, crab juice all over the keyboard and mouse.
I use sea water to cook them in a big pot on a 3 ring burner connected to a gas bottle in the shed. Bring to boil. In go the live crabs. Once fully boiling again, 4 minutes, then into a sea water ice slush to cool them right off. Clean them. Then I eat them as I shell them. pepper and vinegar for the crab. Beer for me to drink whilst eating.
Cant always go flying so you gotta do something.

Oh yes it is GOOd. Im lucky to be able to walk 100m down the road and do this any day for 8 months of the year!!! Hardly any people here. No pressure on the crab population. So I never need to catch a lot. just a quick trip get 8 or ten. easy to deal with and enjoy, no waste. Its one of the pros of where I live! Like most of you it seems, out in the country away from the citys.

Excellent, give me a shout next time you have a boil going! I’ll need about 4 days of lead time.

Hi Yabby,
My flying buddy Frank, would love this!
He made 'Dungenis Crab' sculptures here near Toronto, Canada.
Frozen, he cooked them, X-Acto #11s dissected them, boiled the crap out of them.
Obviously, all the meat was much enjoyed.
He dried the shells, and glued them back together.
And made,
These really cool sculptures..
This is why.
I like CEF,
Dave
