Cox Engine of The Month
Messerschmitt Me 109E by Kyosho.
Messerschmitt Me 109E by Kyosho.
After the restoration of that Kyosho P51 Mustang and seeing its kit quality, later, its unbeatable flight capacity, I have decided to put together another model from the same firm and manufactured in those years (1980) just like the P51 Mustang, it is about of the Messerschmitt Me 109E.
I take this opportunity to mention that it is worth highlighting the quality of the components of these model airplanes, the perfect fit, the accessories (complete) and finally the flight, which is great. At that time (1980), today's technology did not exist, however, in my opinion, the quality of the product is at the level of excellence.
Having said the above, I begin with the assembly of this other kit, which I bought a few years ago from an individual through an online page. He had never armed himself, so the time had come.
I will leave aside the excellent .09 r/c engine that comes with the kit, to put another engine a little more powerful as I did with the P51 Mustang.

for this model I bought a new motor O.S. .15 FP, it is from UControl, therefore I incorporated a modified .09 AP magazine, NOT a .09, it is an AP .15 the intake and fitting measurements, to the necessary measurements for the O.S motor.....everything seems to be perfect!....
and then....we have a Me 109 ready!

Eric, my friend. The kito does not bring the servos, these kits are from the 1980s, therefore they came for large servos, today you can place micro servos and thus make it even lighter.
The Original kit gives the option to build it with 3 or 4 channels, a central aileron servo, throttle servo, rudder servo and elevator servo. In my case and as in the P51 Mustang, I have installed two micro servos for each wing, that way I can play with finer settings, and even do some mixing if necessary.
The Me 109 and the P51 are armed in the same way, that is to say 4 channels and 5 servos.
Yes it is very light, it originally came with an ENYA .09, but I like the .15 better!!!...it goes like a missile!, hahaha, we'll see how the Me 109 turns out??!!

Thank you very much!!, I made a correction, it is an AP .15 engine carburetor, NOT a .09.
I have modified it myself mechanically.
Measurements A and C have been modified in order to meet the specifications of the O.S. engine. .fifteen
The letter B indicates that I made a hole and then threaded 3.5 millimeters, this is to hold the carburetor to the engine crankcase.

Eric!:
Non-alcoholic beer, if it's new, it's bitter and that makes you not notice that it doesn't have alcohol, it's very tasty!!
Michpatriot:
Yes, as soon as I can I'll make a video, I really want to see how the Me 109 goes!!!

I have also made an aluminum alloy tube replacing the original one that comes with the engine's exhaust chamber, since the original one has a restriction due to sound and that causes the engine to lose some rpm.
The one that manufactures has no restriction, it only respects the length of the original piece, (I did the same for the P51 Mustang).

Re: Messerschmitt Me 109E by Kyosho.
Two incredible machines, an important part of history and that today I have here the possibility of enjoying them on a scale.
They are two kits, of very good quality, really everything is very well done, it is a pity that these things are not manufactured more. I fully understand that these are the changes and the generations are enjoying other things in life, but I must say that I feel a lot of nostalgia for those years when model airplanes were in their splendor.
I hope you my friends like them as much as I do.
Hugs!

Mauricio my friend! Happy New Year to you! Your models look very realistic and it will surely be exciting to fly this new one! I wish you the best of luck!
... By the way; the "NVA" (needle-valve assembly) from the FP-S .15 is said to be of superior quality.. and no longer available. You'll want to keep that somewhere safe.

Roddie, happy new year to you! You are a person I always remember for your kindness, he is the one with whom I made contact for the first time in the US and you were very kind! I will never forget it, my friend!
Yeeeeeesssss, those parts are no longer manufactured, each of these engines is a jewel, everything is becoming more and more difficult to obtain. Yes! I keep the needle valve perfectly in the original engine box...it's a pity that many manufacturing parts are disappearing, engines, planes, etc., but it's part of history, if there is no consumption, it doesn't have It makes sense for a manufacturer to offer them...it's like that!
I love all these vintage planes....I will die with them, they are my life, so sorry friend

Re: Messerschmitt Me 109E by Kyosho.
Today was the premiere of the Messerscmith Me 109. Dodo was perfect. The adjustment of these kits is really precise, there was nothing to trim or touch, the model flies flawlessly, like on a rail.
The flight speed is high, I like how the engine O.S. .15 FP, by the way, the modified .15 AP carburettor works perfectly, I even like the position of the adjustment needle better than the original carburettor.
I am very happy to have finished another model from yesteryear, from the 1980s, which is only flying for the first time today.
These models are very well made. Both the P51 Mustang and this Me 109 are models that are really worth enjoying both in sight and in flight. I hope you like the video, we'll go for more!

That Is a very stable flying airplane , slow , fast , inverted seem to do what you tell the plane to do and not miss a beat ! Changing the engine was a good idea it has the power it needs now for your flying abilities . Good job on this bird of ARF from the 1980s
