It makes me want to cry when I see model engines that have been doomed to live out their lives in display cases and once every 10 years bolted to a 2 x 4 just so it's Evil Master can watch his poor engine try to break free from its constraints....
Mr. The "engine of the month" contest seeks pictures of engines, it was even questioned whether or not it was right that they were installed in some type of model, because in this contest what counts is "the engine". In addition to that, the engine must work, those are the rules of this contest. Well, with what has been said before, it is clear that an engine bolted to a test bench is for presentation purposes, but also a test bench is used to check and fine-tune the engine, get to know it and thus make the necessary adjustments. .
In any case, so that you stop crying, or don't feel like crying, I leave you a video with that engine in flight, only that I changed the steel acceleration ring and made one in graphite bronze so you can even see it prettier.
Regards!

It's all very well, your title is a bit harsh:
"I HATE SEEING ENGINES RUN ON TEST STANDS"
I'm glad it's a joke... well, it's hard sometimes to understand.
