AHC service was very bad. I ordered an item at sale price but they made no discount to foreign country, so I phoned to them, someone said bad words to me and we quarelled at the time. Once I bought a Futaba 4 channel PCM radio from them and they send it without original box. Radio placed in a cardboard box filled with crushed newspaper, arrived undamaged miraculously.

Actually, it depended on certain years. Bernie started the company and he was a fair man. However, his son Marshall took it over which was more than likely the person you dealt with. If you were ever in the shop, you would wonder how, why, what the he$$ is going on in here. You couldn't just walk in and purchase a kit for example. You would have to know where it was cataloged from the main catalog which would send the step and fetch kid for the item. The steps leading in were almost ladder like going straight up . I'm not even certain if Marshall is still alive. One of my club members purchased AHC hobby shop with all the remaining stock. It took him nearly 25 years to liquidate the majority of the items and I know he still has a fair amount more.
