Cox Engine of The Month
A Swap-Meet with a Decent Turn-Out

A Swap-Meet with a Decent Turn-Out
Up front apologies for no photos of the actual Swap Meet...forgot my camera AND phone...not sure what's up with that.
But the Annual Swap meet at Columbia, Illinois DID have a fair turn-out, and I acquired enough items to justify the trip...along with a jog down memory lane with a drive around Cahokia.
I got a brand new wing to replace the warped one on my old Avion P-51 Mustang.
The Cox Mustang is a pretty plane, but that scale-like (as in: tiny) wing means you need to be close to the ground when the engine quits.
My little Mustang is in pretty good shape, save for missing chunk of cowling, and a cracked/repaired canopy.
Got a FREE .020 wrench that I figure must be an old/new item because its functions are stamped into its surface.
Also got a 2 1/2 oz. wedge tank and a control line handle that may have been part of a miter saw in a previous life. I'll probably sculpt the handle a bit on the band saw, along with adding a screw/washer lock for it's cable.
So an OK trip, with some good visiting and great chili for lunch.

[quote="rsv1cox"]What do you know about the Cox/Avion Mustang? Not much anywhere about it including on the forum.
It SEEMS like I asked about it way back in the day, but don't remember the responses...though I believe I got some.
That said, anybody here that would want the old, warped one for postage, I'll send it to you.
