Not much of a crowd here in little Capon Bridge, population <400. Only two other people ahead of me. Usually there is a line out the door.

Dang! I love the way you vote south of the border. Go vote, then off to treat yourself on the way home. I gotta remember this one next election!

looking from the outside
Just wondering about how things are done there.
For example in quite a few countries election day is a national holiday.
This makes it a lot easier for people to vote.
Would that be something you guys in the states would like?

Re: I voted..................
Here in Illinois (USA) the voting booths are open at 6:00am and closed at 7:00pm.
So, you had to vote before you went to work (then get to work before your late).
Or vote after you are done working for the day (if you can get to the voting station before it closed?)
Making it a national holiday would not make any more people vote. It would be just another day off from work.
The company that I worked for, when it was a year for voting on a "new" president would give you, an extra day's pay "if" you showed that you voted (at the voting station they have stickers that you can be pickup to show you voted).
Problem was that some people just went inside got the sticker and left and not voted.
So, the company stopped that idea.
