Re: My brand new Copperhead .049 seems to be nothing but eye candy junk
In response to the EU / UK questions:
The UK is the country where shipments get to our customers the fastest from us, generally 4 - 7 days; whereas two weeks is an anomaly. This is faster than within our own country, except for within British Columbia, where we are located.
With very little exception, we only declare CA$ 15 per package as value so, even if the package doesn't simply fly through customs, the 20% VAT is only charged on CA$ 15 + their processing fee which, unfortunately, is higher that the VAT.
The EU has eliminated the 22 Euro de minimis this year, for shipments originating outside of the EU. Again, the same scenario applies as for the UK; whereas VAT % differs between countries.
We encourage buyers to shop in our online store instead of our eBay store. The prices in our online store are generally lower (up to 20%) and eBay collects EU VAT / USA taxes AU-NZ GST up front for the full value of the merchandise, including shipping costs; whereas we do not charge any taxes (except within Canada, a legal requirement).

Mecoa make new Cox stuff that Cox international and exmodelengine don't stock sadly.
Mecoa do not export to UK for tax reasons.
Could not Cox international and exmodelengine buy in it make/develope some of these parts, particularly td09 bits like the plastic inlet manifolds, silencers and RC carbs ?
Yes I know economics come into play...
The market is too small for this. To get reasonable pricing, we have to make between 500 and 1,000 units per part. Sometimes we come across a handful of OEM parts from estate sales and following has been our experience:
09 Carb bodies: Sell perhaps 3-4 per month - 500 units is a 12-year supply
09 Mufflers: Sell perhaps 1 per month - 500 units is a 40-year supply
09 RC carburetors: In 2019 we found three of them and it took over 6 months to sell them
It makes little sense to invest scarce funds into products where the break-even point is decades away.
We have plenty of products that we manufactured over a decade ago and where we still have over 50% of the stock. What we thought were sound business decisions back then (requests from customers) have basically turned into losses so far.
one product line i would love to see
I wish there where design files i could buy to 3d print controll line models.
The spook is a obvious subject but also a pt19 style model would be greath.
Also the lack of shipping cost and time would make it a more atractive product to me.
