Back But Gone Again.....
So as was mentioned earlier in my other post, that I would be away from modelling or anything related really due to something at work. Well, both the good and the bad. The good is that my leave of absence here did pay off to concentrate on a work project that was required as I had applied for a promotion, along with many others. I got the great news yesterday that I was indeed the successful candidate for the job, so my years of hard work has again paid off!
Now the bad news..... I will again be taking a short leave from here again as I am leaving for holidays tomorrow to go the the cottage for the weekend and the upcoming week. Wish I was able to take some more stuff to play with while there, but unfortunately, the truck is pretty full, and my engine bench will simply not fit. And after last years fiasco, I was informed I was not to mount and run any more engines on the picnic table. Apparently we all have to eat there. Who knew?
So with that said, I will be still checking in. Keep up the good reads!

Congrats for the promotion! I hope the new job won’t keep you too busy to play with engines and toy airplanes

Re: Back But Gone Again.....
Well, it's about time to do a little update.
But first, thank you for the kind words of my promotion. It is however keeping me a bit busy after hours as there is a bunch more tech stuff involved and trying to do a bit of reading.
Secondly, holidays were well needed and deserved, however, there was something not well liked and deserved while on holidays. That was the overpopulation of the mosquitoes present! Heck one morning I woke up at about 5:45 am, not sure why, but got to watch a beautiful sunrise with my mosquito friends. My bedroom screen had over 50 on it alone at that time. But around 9:00 - 10:00 am, they disappeared. Was a bit breezy during the day, but like clockwork daily around 4:00 pm, wind would die down and our friends would re-appear. Even sitting by the water daily we had to 'fog' for them and use coils as well just to make it remotely bearable. But at 4:00 pm, back home we go. It was nice for the break, but sucked having to stay inside in the evening. One day I set up teh screen tent so we could have a fire, but even those are not fool proof. I think they know you gotta leave to go to teh bathroom or something, and every time it opened, countless numbers came in. But in the end, we survived!
And Eric, yes, I smuggled in 1 small engine and a half pint of fuel as per your recommendation. However, I just was busy and did not have time to make up a small bench to run it on. But I did bring one!
