Happy Fathers Day but no bird seed

Happy Fathers’ Day Bob and all the other dads on the forum!

Here in Finland we have Fathers’ Day in November, Mothers’ Day is in early May.

I’ll see of I find those albums on spotify and check them out. This thread, however, is incomplete until you post a pic of your turntable

Something out there has a grudge against me and the bird feeder!

Got up this morning and found the soil I had compacked around the pole with the blunt end of a 2X4 and a five pound sledge half dug out and the pole that I had carefully leveled leaning at an angle.  




Didn't stop there, visited the bath and slopped half the water out knocking it off plumb.





I have to plumb both again.  Probably not a bear, more likely the Fox that likes to spend time under the deck.

BTW, the hoe goes back in our family about a hundred years, still has the cement residue on it that I remember my father mixing back in the 1940's. Happy Fathers day Dad.

Went to see my 87 yo dad yesterday…. My gift to him was a bale of Coastal hay and a bag of corn for his goats…. Doc finally told him get some help throwing 50 lb bags of feed around…, He usually buys a pickup truck load for the goats and horses…

A gift from my daughter in law lisa.  I sold all mine when CD's took over and yard sale'd all my albums.  Regret it.  Some I will never be able to recover yet with the help of the kids I have made a small start.




CD's - pretty simple.  A mixture of Bose, Sony, and Teac.





Packed some more dirt around the bird feeder, more work for me (in vane) and for the critter.  



Good on your Dad rdw, hard work and plenty of it keeps you young and involved.

Mireille Mathieu George, huge on the continent but never clicked here.  I have most of her CD's and albums.  Fluent in several languages and sings in them all.  Concerts from Red square to Japan and most inbetween.

I love Linda, got her CD's too.  Both sing hit versions of Blue Bayou but Roy Orbison owns that song.  

Got BF visitors, Purple Finches mostly.

Goes to show how much I recognize singers. Yes, now that you mention it, I remember a couple years ago you mentioned about her. I watched a video of her performing fairly recent in Red Square, was an impressive performance in French. It was a nice concert with the Russian military band and color guard to accompany her. She is very petite, I didn't realize how petite she is until she was escorted into the courtyard ceremonial area by one of the color guards. She has a very nice, silky smooth voice with such style, even in her older age. I am surprised that she never married, but then, Dolly Parton never had any children. Life has many freedom of choices, and I respect that in their regard.

I like Linda's song, Heat Wave, as well as the one that first put her on the charts, "Beat of a Different Drum".

I like finches. My wife chased them away from nesting in our front porch, until she found out they eat thousands of bugs each. Now, they come a visit us, but no longer roost.

Barely five feet tall George.  Critized in liberal France for her consertative views, but the people loved her.

Got the Eagles on cassette out in the cabin.  Pretty remote, can make the windows rattle there too.

Found Mireille Mathieu is a bit taller than I thought, 5'-1", but still petite.

Don't know if I really believe the MSM, think the fact she is popular among the common folk illustrates she is well liked in France as well as elsewhere.
