On today's date, 78 years ago, 160,000 Allied troops stormed the beaches at Normandy -- they did so to rid the world of a tyrant. I cannot imagine the fear many felt, yet they moved forward to gain a foothold in western Europe. Those men, both living and passed, have my deepest appreciation and admiration.

While this is not model related, I believe it's important for each of us to remember this day and realize that our lifestyle and well being is in many ways dependent on their bravery and sacrifices.

I agree Andrew.

I have taken the time today to watch a couple of D-Day related programs.  There are still veterans of that combat that are showing up there.  TCM presented "The Longest Day" over the weekend.  It's tragic today that a certain leader of a certain country thinks that war and the killing of women and children is acceptable conduct.  I have a hard time getting my head around that one.

I agree too Andrew, I cannot fathom the bravery of those soldiers considering what they were walking running swimming into… God bless them… Thank you vets,

Robert
