Purple Martins are Back

Purple Martins are Back
Makes it feel more like Spring …. They’re pleasant to watch fly, They will circle above their house and thermal out hundreds of feet high effortlessly….. It’s kind of funny but if I let their house down to maintenance it, They will appear out of nowhere and sit on a power line and watch me til I’m finished….Their house is mounted to the end of my shop so they see me a lot… They get very accustomed to their people…..

LOVE these creatures!
My "Coffee Mates" (barn swallows) have appeared, but as yet are too shy for me to get their photo. In a couple of weeks, they'll be zooming by my face to enter the old shed where they make their nests, totally ignoring me and my morning coffee.
The Blue Birds have been here for a while, and are busy furnishing their house:

Re: Purple Martins are Back
About 20 days earlier than last year Robert.
Love that house, I should build one. I would think plans are available on the net.
Purple Finches have been at the feeder the last couple of days but I have seen no activity around the Spruce tree.
