Enya warranty cards
I'd you have a handful, can you use them back to back against the same engine?
(It's an inside joke).

Strange post Jim, but not as strange as this snail mail I got yesterday from Wisconsin. Only person I know of on the forum from Wisconsin is TL Anderson, and this came from Gregg. I sent Jacob a PM with the sender's name asking for information.
Mike (sosam) another Enya nut is from Chicago. Something that Fred would do, but Fred's in Texas. Dunno...........
I'm sure I will suffer embarrassment when I find out, but thanks to whomever.
Is there a connection?
Bob

Re: Enya warranty cards
I own many of the enemas but I'm not a nut over them. Last year I bought 2 more of the 25 SS version. One is ABC and the other AAC. I just completed a profile for them and I will see how they do. This engine tends to be a bit weighty. I'm also not seeing the claimed rpm numbers for the props spec'd. Starting seems ok to fair, hot restarts are not looking good. I think that will change with more time on the engine or at least I hope. My choice currently for my new build is the ABC version. Unlike other ABC engines I own, this one being new, doesn't seem to have the pinch that I usually associate with new ABC engines. I hope this isn't why my rpm numbers are down.

Enemas still cracks me up Ken. "But I'm not a nut over them." Ha! Sounds like you are. "I bought two more."
Give the new ones a chance. Out of a hundred or so that I have the best running and easiest starting is the Enya .29 sitting on the nose of my Sterling Fledgling that has many, many hours on it. Not a lot of care either, mostly put away wet. Just a few drops of fuel in the ports a few sticky pull through's and off she would go. Love that engine.
So, what's up with these warranty cards, and I don't have any HB engines.
Edit add:
I have heard of HP engines. Great engines but I have none. (I think.) But I have never heard of HB engines so I looked on ebay and found a .15 from our old friend The Red Baron for $39. Cheap enough. Bought it. Got the manual already thanks again to whomever. Everyone could use another .15.

Re: Enya warranty cards
Bob, the HB line of engines are very good quality engines. Helmut Bernhardt is the manufacturer. They're a bit dated today but they're still high quality nonetheless. I run a HB .40 PDP on my r/c plane. Our buddy Randy over at MECOA offers some parts. Just have a open blank check it's going to cost you. The HB line included a .12 which is identical to your .15. I believe the case is the same aside from the liner being larger. I'm curious as to the rpm's it will offer. I typically want to be able to get 20k out of a .15. I don't think the HB is up to the task. Even the archaic Fox .15x will see almost 20K. However, the HB is fairly light.

Thanks for the update, Ken. The seller mentioned that he didn't think the carburetor was correct, but it's a Perry Carb and all the others that I have seen are equipped with them. Eager to get it, I have never had one much less run one. Will light it off and post about it.

Mr. Bob,
I was starting to wonder, so I went fishing by starting this thread.
They were from me. I found them on RCG and immediately thought of you. There was supposed to be a note in the envelope.
"From 944_Jim...because you turned him into a fellow Enya fan."

Enjoy or spread around as you see fit.

Ah, full circle. Thought you may have had a hand in it, the R/C Groups decal being a hint. No note in the envelope.
I did check the senders name and town on-line and got a hit. 61-year-old person doesn't match the RC Groups ads picture.
Thanks for thinking of me. I will sleep better tonight.

These are for sure old-school (and need full castor) but they run well and are also lightweight, especially if you can take advantage of the radial mount.
Here are some numbers on 10%nitro and 20% all castor fuel (I think they are set-up for 0% nitro, so I usually add one head shim):
HB .12 with stock muffler, APC 7x4 prop, no head shim (ran a bit hot): 14800rpm.
HB .12 with stock muffler, APC 7x4 prop, one head shim: 14600rpm.
HB .15 with stock muffler, APC 8x4 prop, one head shim: 14000rpm.
Here is a little bench run of the HB .12 with an APC 7x4 prop (and one head shim):

Thanks Kris, I have that fuel and prop.
Great throttle response on that .12. What an odd size.

Spring time always gets me engine wise. Three this past week and a couple of airplanes.
Just picked up this crystal case .010 to replace one I sold 30+ years ago.
and picked this K&B .049 up this morning at the mail box. Along with a fuel tank from MECOA

Enya really didn't have a warranty.
The one you got was from the seller (at the time was MRC) and it was a limited warranty of 30 days.
You sent the engine back to MRC and they would look it over.
If they considered it was crash damage they would deny any warranty. ( which happed most of the time.
BUT, MRC would tell you the parts needed to fix it and the cost.
There usually was a repair parts list for your engine and the cost of the replacement parts in the MRC jeweled (plastic box) that came with your "new" Enya engine. And some wording about "if" you have problems with your engine mail it to MRC for repair.

Re: Enya warranty cards
I have an engine that was being returned to a customer after repair. None to formal about it.
This .09 plus a .60 for $20 back when these were cheap (cheaper.)
Edit: My mistake, can't believe my own notes. It came on the same day as the .09 but i checked my inventory. Made a offer of $60 for the .60 which was accepted.
