Re: Removing Carb Body from TD 0.049
Thanks but I don't know what is does either. Where does one see this button?
Re: Removing Carb Body from TD 0.049
You'll have to look in another thread near the Quote button. Once someone clicks the button, it disappears from all posts in that thread, and I don't know what it does either. To give a + or - reputation, those are over to the right of a post. That's what I use, but I try to be sparing so as not to diminish their purpose.

Removing Carb Body from TD 0.049
I said I would report back on my TD ).049 so hear it is:
Built from best parts of two engines, new ( bernie) piston/cyl assby, venom
porting, three head shims. on a Cox 6x3 prop. throttle ring fitted.
Equivalent Cox fuel, about 27% nitro, high castor.
After three 2oz tanks running rich it would hold 13,800 and peak at 14,000rpm.
it would be quite happy running at 8,000 and so quiet. The transition from
low to high was amazingly progressive. Feel on a rc servo instead of poking
a bit of wire at it,I will be able to get a lower idle.
Minor problems,
Head tended to slacken after a run, new, soft head shims should fix that
Needle tended to wind out, this chappie hadn't fitted needle spring
but a bit of fuel tube fixed it for runs.
Result, Delighted now what to put it in?

You will certainly need something lightweight with that limited amount of power.
Are you using a regular glow plug adapter or something?
The 05RC will spin a 6x3 at about 17000rpm (on 10% nitro), as a comparison.

That is a little low in the RPM department for a TD however, if it's muffled and your not running a stock cylinder it sounds about right. The main thing is you are happy with it and it is running well. I am glad you got it sorted. Enjoy!

Removing Carb Body from TD 0.049
Sorry it took me so long to get back. missed your posts.
It was not fully leaned out, it was a steady rich run, just run in .
Was more interested in the throttling than the top end.
It was a standard head and three head shims fitted, with the high comp head
fitted and two head shims removed I am sure it will do the business.
Thanks for the feedback. john

Just making sure y'all know the drive plate can be removed simply by unscrewing the carb retainer ring and it will push off the drive plate without having to tap it out with the screw. No need to take off the back plate or even remove the engine from the plane. Of course you have to remove the prop first.
